- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 581 reviewsit's a family owned hotel; I had the pleasure of meeting 3 generations. The moment I stepped in I felt somewhat ' at home": lots of original furniture. There is a dining room, an indoor terras, a bar (smoking allowed !) An outdoor lush garden. The room (2 p) and ensuite bathroom was spacious with watercooker etc as advertised. I was baffled with breakfast: an overwhelming choice of bread, sweets, fruit and plenty excellent coffee. Indoor parking is a nice touch as well. They speak french, german, english and even a bit dutch (in that order: so I hope Dutch people will show some courtesy by trying any other language except there own :-) !) Berdorf itself has nothing much to offer; but excellent located from hiking trails within a perimeter of 5 - 10 km. Busses are free but I stuck to my car since I wanted to do/see a lot.Guest review byHelenNetherlands
- From £129.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 289 reviewsHad a gorgeous stay at the White Pearl. The building itself is beautiful, as is the garden - was a big fan of the natural swimming pool. The room was very spacious and excellently equipped, with lots of storage space. It also remained cool and comfortable, in spite of the high temperatures (in mid-August). The breakfasts were lovely and Franklin was very kind, practical and knowledgeable in providing advice and tips, re. the local hiking trails.Guest review byCatherineIreland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 1,125 reviewsThe hotel was very clean and our room had been recently renovated. We had a room overlooking the forest. The shower was very clean with beautiful tiles and there was plenty of hot water. The staff were so friendly and very helpful especially when we missed our bus to the airport. A shuttle minibus was very quickly available and we made our flight. The veranda was a lovely place to sit in the evening for a meal and drinks.Guest review byLorraineUnited Kingdom

Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an underrated gem. Being English we barely heard a single country person and you are really missing out! If you love the outdoors I couldn't think of a better place to come. Public transport is entirely free and very easy to navigate with the brilliant app mobiliteit.lu. We went on trains, buses and trams entirely free the whole time. It is very easy to set off from Echternach on a bus then walk all the way back, or just do a loop then return back to base. The Mullerthal trail app again is really helpful to find out what walks are in each area - app.mullerthal.lu. But you could just walk directly from Echternach and our youth hostel. The Hostel was set on the lake. There was a climbing wall, bike hire, walks and swimming lakeside. A huge adventure playground with toilets, a Roman villa, a great restaurant - all within minutes. Two supermarkets, one close to the lake and the other in the town gave plentiful options for food. The town is very attractive and has a long pedestrian street with outstanding restaurants (if you love Sushi go to Wangs, it was out of this world). It's a simple hour trip from Luxembourg city so could be done in a day but that wouldn't do it justice. You could also get to Trier in Germany (amazing city!) in about 45 minutes if a city trip was your thing. You should go!Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.Guest review byFilipBelgium - 10.0

On our cycling trip through Luxembourg we found this gem of a place to stay, a short distance from Echternach, which was one of our destinations. We had a nice, quiet stay in this beautiful quaint place. The owner was very friendly and helpful, and her English really good, so communication was easy. The food at the restaurant was delicious, truly a great dining experience. Having a drink in the beautiful adjacent garden was a pleasure as well, after a long day's ride. All-in-all a wonderful place I'd advice to anyone.Guest review byPollyNetherlands - 10.0
Great place for a short hiking/relaxing trip.
Great place for a short hiking/relaxing trip. The paths are perfectly sign-posted and there are so many to choose from. Easy to get around, and having free public transport makes it even easier to get around.Guest review byPatrickPoland - 6.0

Bollendorf is in a nice setting but the town has few facilities, and speaking to locals it appears much of the tourist business has been damaged by a combination of COVID lockdowns and the devastating floods in 2021.Guest review byRichard HounsellUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Beautiful gem in Luxemburg.
Beautiful gem in Luxemburg. Tiny, narrow streets of old town are astonishing. Colorful, clean, plenty of flowers. A place to enjoy. Parking is free from 6pm to 8 pm. Supermarket Cactus in walking distance from the old town.Guest review byJustyna
