Fantastic location literally 3 minutes from Christmas Market and centre. Room was lovely, really comfortable and decorated to match the style of the hotel. Breakfast had good selection of foods and they catered for my husband’s gluten free allergy with bread and rolls supplied. Staff were great and nothing was any trouble for them. Remember to pop down to the cellar while you are there, it is the oldest in the city and is amazing to see such well preserved stone walls.

We had a 2 room apartment for 2 adults and 2 kids. + The apartment was clean and spacious. + The location was excellent, we could do hikes in the countryside or walk to the town Saarburg along the Saar river. + The staff was friendly, giving us tips and maps about activities in the area + The dinner at the restaurant hotel was fabulous, and the wine selection good and reasonably priced. We had very good Riesling from the neighboring wine estate, which belongs to the owner’s brother. + If you don’t finish your bottle of wine they keep it for you for dinner the next day. + Pretty and well-maintained property gardens + They have a kids playground which my kids throughly enjoyed + They had special soap and shampoo for kids in the bathroom. + Breakfast had a large selection of local organic produce.

    Incredible place: great location- about 2 km from the center but the bus station (free transportation all over Luxemburg, perfect time schedule) is right in front of the hotel. Very clean, comfortable beds, towels and bathrobes changed every day, amazing pool outside, wet and dry sauna, amazing view. The hotel is near a forest where you can hike or run, clean air and very quit, after that you can swim and have a sauna- it is a treat! Also, the restaurant has great food and good wine and a wonderful staff.

    lovely views of the city, be careful if you, like me, have a touch of vertigo as numerous high points with deep changes of level. ideal for a two day visit. If you like a few drinks then look for the happy hour places in the town as it is quite expensive for drinks otherwise. Try the local good...very nice indeed. We ate at Brasserie du Cercle was lovely.

    Lovely city, lots of sights to see.

    Lovely city, lots of sights to see. After 3 visits we still haven't seen everything. Lots of places to have a drink in the afternoon and early evening, but bar and terraces do seem to close early. So if it's a warm summer evening and you want to have an evening drink that may be a bit of a problem.

    Echternach, if not the entire t of Luxembourg, is an underrated gem. Being English we barely heard a single country person and you are really missing out! If you love the outdoors I couldn't think of a better place to come. Public transport is entirely free and very easy to navigate with the brilliant app mobiliteit.lu. We went on trains, buses and trams entirely free the whole time. It is very easy to set off from Echternach on a bus then walk all the way back, or just do a loop then return back to base. The Mullerthal trail app again is really helpful to find out what walks are in each area - app.mullerthal.lu. But you could just walk directly from Echternach and our youth hostel. The Hostel was set on the lake. There was a climbing wall, bike hire, walks and swimming lakeside. A huge adventure playground with toilets, a Roman villa, a great restaurant - all within minutes. Two supermarkets, one close to the lake and the other in the town gave plentiful options for food. The town is very attractive and has a long pedestrian street with outstanding restaurants (if you love Sushi go to Wangs, it was out of this world). It's a simple hour trip from Luxembourg city so could be done in a day but that wouldn't do it justice. You could also get to Trier in Germany (amazing city!) in about 45 minutes if a city trip was your thing. You should go!

    Berdorf is my favorite go-to location if I wanna go on a hiking weekend. It's about a three hour drive from where I live, so very doable for a weekendtrip. The entire Echternach region in beautiful (check out the Mullerthal Trail), but the region around Berdorf is especially beautiful. The forests around Berdorf all have those typical rock formations with stairs and ladders, little chasms etc that really make it so much more interesting than a normal forest hike. The town itself is very small and is really just meant to spend the night in between two days of heavy hiking.

    We technically stayed in Orscholz, which is a smaller hamelt of Mettlach. It's right where the Saarschleife is as well as a number of biking and hiking trails. We only did the Saarschleife and the Spielplatz, but could have spent a couple days there!

    Mondorf-les-Bains is a charming town with over 5,000 inhabitants located near the Luxembourg Moselle River. Home to the only casino and the only spa and fitness center in the Grand Duchy, it benefits from all the advantages of a big city: -Everything close to home, -Easily accessible by public transport, -Many leisure and recreational opportunities, -Fascinating architecture and cultural heritage, -Many shops, A wide selection of hotels and restaurants. In short, an ideal place to relax and recharge every day.

    Luxembourg is a peaceful and beautiful city. There is plenty to explore, we walked around the city for about two hours, but could have stayed longer. There are beautiful churches, high end shops and lots of choices for eating. We found a small bakery with an extremely friendly manager. The town looks like a model village when viewed from above. As Luxembourg is a small country we also travelled to the north and saw a beautiful castle. We were there at the end of August but it was very quiet compared to other places. My family all loved the country and we are likely to return for a longer trip. Please keep it quiet how nice it is, as the lack of crowds added to the charm!

    The best is its great location, especially in those rooms that have a total view of the Porta Nigra. It is close to the most enchanting places of Trier. The worst: a) the night staff is terrific, b) there is no designated space to leave your luggage for a few hours; they left it just behind the front desk. c) The bedclothes are not the standard in Mexico and the USA. It only includes a coat that does not completely protect you; it is too heavy in hot weather, and I suppose that having conditioned air in wintertime could be enough. But I didn´t like it.
