Beautiful new boutique hotel on the very quiet Kalkudah Beach. A beautiful setting with gorgeous garden and sea views from every room. Spacious accommodation including a large room and bathroom, and many communal sitting areas. Each room also includes a private terrace or veranda with comfortable furniture. The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, with a special mention to the chef Manoj who created beautifully presented, freshly cooked and most importantly delicious food. He catered each meal to our specific requests and dietary needs. It is a wonderful property to stay and relax. It’s worth noting that there’s nothing to walk out to and the town is a bit of a distance, but you will have a lovely time staying and relaxing at this hotel. The beach itself is stunning, the water is calm, clean and warm and its is fringed by palms. Paradise

We spent three nights at Sunrise Pasikuda and it was perfect. The hotel is immaculate and our room (we had a family suite) was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom and two toilets, and a big balcony. We loved the little extras like the fruit plate and flowers on the bed. The location is great. The hotel has a huge pool which leads down to the hotel beach which is clean and quiet with a beach bar. You can do water sports and we did a boat trip that took us to local reefs with excellent snorkelling. We had all our meals here and I can’t fault the food. Breakfast and dinner are buffets with wide choice and there was entertainment every evening. We liked playing pool although the pool cues need an update. What made our stay so special was the staff at the hotel. They are so warm and welcoming and just want you to have a great time. We will definitely return.

The staff and owner went above and beyond to help out with anything we needed. They even organized a quick repair of our vehicle! We felt welcome from the first second. The pool and all other facilities were spotless clean, the room spacious. Breakfast and dinner were amazing. The beach is a 5min walk away.

The great customer service at this hotel impressed me. They were always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. Spotlessly clean rooms with comfortable beds and Amazing location, close to all the main attractions. Delicious foods with a great variety.     We stayed at Passi Villa in Pasikuda for a peaceful vacation, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted us warmly, making us feel right at home. The villa had a calm and tropical atmosphere, which set the perfect mood for relaxation. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of the beach. Waking up to the breathtaking sight of the sunrise the morning was one of the best parts of our stay. The calmness of the surroundings, combined with the ability to watch the sun’s first rays over the ocean, made each morning feel magical. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the décor added to the serene, coastal vibe. The bathroom was modern, with all the necessary amenities. One of the highlights of our stay was the swimming pool, which offered a gorgeous view of the beach. It was beautifully maintained and perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. We spent a relaxing afternoon there, enjoying the peaceful ambiance, the beach view, and the great service by the poolside. We dined at the hotel restaurant several times, and the food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood. The location of Passi Villa was ideal for a beach getaway, with easy access to the ocean and water activities. The calmness of the surroundings allowed us to truly unwind, making it a perfect retreat. Overall, our stay at Passi Villa exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to couples looking for a tranquil and romantic escape. We look forward to returning soon!

    This place is class! A huge stretch of white sandy beach with essentially just the hotel on it! We had a beachfront villa which we loved. The outdoor shower is so cool and it was amazing to open the curtains each morning and walk straight onto the beach! You are assigned a personal butler for the duration of the stay and you can contact them via WhatsApp at any time and for any request. A special shoutout to Malshan here! He was so professional and very responsive to all our requests. The pool is amazing - it is huge and there are shelves on the sides you can sit and lounge in to cool down! There are books, balls, volleyball and Pétanque around here to enjoy during the day! 😊 We chose to do the destination dining and the outdoor cinema add ons during our stay and just wow. All the food was sensational throughout our stay! I recommend French toast for breakfast and butter chicken for dinner!!! There are local fishermen who work on the beach, pulling in their nets and dealing with their catch, this was a very unique thing to experience! So much more I could mention!

    I recently stayed in this hotel in Pasikuda, Sri Lanka, which is beautifully located on a clean beach with gentle waves during this season. (September 2024) The hotel rooms were modern and spacious, providing a comfortable stay. They also have a dedicated water sports section that offered exciting Jet Ski rides and a snorkeling trip to the nearby "Kayankerni" Coral Reef for a reasonable additional cost. Snorkeling was an amazing first-time experience for both my wife and me, and it was impressive that even some 5-star hotels do not have a water sports center like this one. The hotel features a large swimming pool with a depth of 9 feet at one end, perfect for a refreshing swim. The location is ideal, with no stones or corals that could hurt your feet while enjoying the beach. Although the hotel manager was not present during our visit, we were warmly greeted by the manager from their sister hotel, who made us feel welcome.

    For our second visit to Passikudah we chose Anantaya Resort and we couldn't have chosen better. From the first moment to the end we were looked after by the friendly staff, especially Rishopana and Kanogitha. We booked this resort for a room with direct access to the pool and we were lucky to get perhaps the nicest room. But what makes this resort special is the people who work here. We also spoke with the friendly beach/pool attendant S. and likewise the waiters and cooks at breakfast and dinner did everything they could to make the guests happy. Excellent Sri Lankan breakfast and dinner. My husband was delighted that the waiters here could spin a beer with a foam cap. The room was very nice and clean. The pool was cleaned regularly too. Free sunbeds on the beach. Beautiful beach and walks. If we had not booked another stay before, we would have stayed longer. We will definitely be back here soon!

    Beautiful resort with amazing location just by the ocean and amazing beach.The hotel quard was always present by the beach, so we could safely keep our stuff there end enjoying the ocen for hours. I appreciate spacious rooms, fast roomservice, great cleanliness and always helpful staff. The food buffet was excellent. Thank you and looking forward to our next stay here. 🙂

These hopper staff who stood out are Lojanan and Suthagaran in house keeping. Reynold Sangeethan and Gajandran in Valet service and Lojan in the Restaurant.

The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.

    Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!

    Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

    We had an incredible time in Pasikudah, snorkeling in the clear waters and enjoying the vibrant marine life. The morning, we were greeted by the stunning sunrise, creating the perfect start to our day.     I think the main reason to go to Pasikuda is for the beach...

    I think the main reason to go to Pasikuda is for the beach which is beautiful, with white sand and clear water, and where it is safe to swim. Beyond that there is not much to see - I had the impression the area is quite poor and there are not many restaurants outside the ones in the hotels.
