GreeceThe location was exquisite, just in front of a water hole, where animals come all day (and night) to drink water. It was the best hotel we stayed during our safari, with big rooms and comfortable beds, overlooking the water hole (some rooms, at least). Best lobby and bar/restaurant as well, also overlooking the water hole.
Tsavo West is very scenic but it’s a bit difficult to spot animals because of the dense bush forest, however you can spot them at the hotel/water hole.

The location is one of the most epic I have ever seen. I have no words to describe the beauty around and the fact that where animals like elephants coming just right in front of the resort to drink water . Full of birds singing and the view from the bar was sensational. The room was so clean and spacious with one of the best view I have ever seen from my window. Wow 😍 Food was amazing , was a buffet style and a lot of variety . Again just perfect . The staff was super great, smiling , welcoming and always caring for the guests. We were also having lunch at the sister hotel Taita hills sancutuary resort and we loved that cause we could also use the facilities over there for example the swimming pool while you were waiting for the game drive . Our game driver philomen was the best driver ever. We saw so many animals and he was making sure we were capturing the perfects moments on our camera. We stayed 2 nights and we didn’t want to leave but only stay more in this part of paradise that we were so glad to experienced and we will never forget. Driving to the lodge didn’t encounter many animals due to bush and lava rock. But at Serena we saw hundreds of animals including many small babies come to the large waterhole right in front of us. But previous trips to Voi was great because one can visit Tsavo east and Tsavo west as well as some of the private wildlife sanctuaries from Voi. Unfortunately the lack of rains for the past three seasons...
Unfortunately the lack of rains for the past three seasons have impacted the wildlife, and there were many dead animals. But the upside to this is that those larger animals still in the tourist area of the part were concentrated around water holes. Making them easier to view. Access to the NP is very expensive (USD 100 per person) for a non-Kenyan resident. While this is a tax which helps keep Rangers and other staff in work, it seems elitist and unaffordable for the majority. Some of that money would be well spent on improving the tracks within the park. They are extremely uncomfortable to travel along and, even in a 4x4, quite dangerous. With our vehicle regularly sliding out to the sides. The best advice on seeing wildlife is to be a little adventurous and take some of the less regularly used tracks. We were able to see elephant, Greater and Lesser Kudu, all the big cats except leopard, snake eagles and many other bird species.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Voi Wildlife Lodge has some extremely peaceful spots during the day when the majority of people are out of the hotel. Within hours of arriving I usually can feel my muscles unwind. The views are breathtaking, and the ability to be so close to the animals is fun. The staff is incredible and would probably pass for a four star hotel. There are only two major downfalls. One, is that there is not WiFi available in the rooms. Two, is that it is starting to show its age. If the owners invest some money to update things it will be right back up where it was the first time I visited five years ago.Guest review byBrook
