- From £161.50 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 473 reviewsOur short, unplanned escape to Sardinia had only a reservation for the first night at this hotel. Recommended to us by friends, so we knew we would enjoy our stay even before we arrived. As they had a last-minute cancellation, they gave us a room with a view to the sea. I highly recommend choosing a room with a view. The walk to the beach is just a short walk through the gate next to the swimming pool. The beach itself is a lovely place to bask in the sun or stroll through the shallow, clear, crystal-clear waters. Staff always attentive, Dinner with an extensive selection to choose from was just the finishing touch to a great day. And the breakfast is as good as the reviews state, with the added touch of a cappuccino prepared to perfection. A place to come back next year.Guest review byDavidAustria
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 695 reviewsIf you're in search of a tranquil, familial atmosphere ensconced in the beauty of nature, look no further. This place is a must-visit. We truly relished the experience of sharing dinner, i.e., eating concurrently with other guests. The establishment was exceptionally well-maintained, and its location amidst nature was exactly what we were seeking: a retreat to disconnect from the daily hustle. The quality of both the dinner and breakfast was excellent, featuring local products. Impressively, with very short notice, the staff managed to provide a gluten-free dinner for my partner. It was an utterly fantastic experience!"Guest review byRobertoItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 234 reviewsThe hotel is very well situated next to a public beach. The hotel staff was super nice, they were very helpful with any problem/request we had. There is option to have a lunch or dinner at the hotel which is very helpful as there are no other restaurants next to the hotel. The best option is to go for a lunch or dinner to nearby town Calasetta by your own car or by a shuttle bus. There are also two beach bars open throughout the day at the public beach.Guest review byPavelCzech Republic

First time visitors to Carloforte need to know that the...
First time visitors to Carloforte need to know that the Delcomar ferry tickets do not guarantee you a spot on the ferry for the time you booked. Instead, the company encourages travelers to show up at least one hour before departure. When I learned this – only after I had booked our Calasetta to Carloforte and Carloforte to Portovesme tickets for the same day – I realized that an afternoon on the island would be too short if 2 hours of that time was spent in a ferry queue. So I rearranged our itinerary and booked a lovely vacation home for one night in Carloforte, as I also learned that we could use our departure ferry ticket the next morning. It turned out that we needed to arrive no more than 30 minutes prior to departure, due to the slower season of when we were visiting, but one night was still far too short to spend on the island. For our afternoon and evening on the island, we got to do a quick stop-off by the Saline Di Carloforte to look for flamingos (we saw some!); an incomplete, 45-minute hike along a cliffside trail from Sentiero Verde (near the upper parking for Cala Fico); a brief stop at the Belvedere di Capo Sandalo; a partial walking tour of Carloforte, preceeded by a much-needed break for gelato; and finally dinner. All of those activities could have used much more time and I would have been happy to spend several days on the island. I wish we had time to stop off at the southern end of the Saline where we might have gotten closer to the flamingos. I wish we had driven down to Cala Fico rather than just peaking down at it from the upper road. I wish there were restrooms at Capo Sandalo so we could have stayed longer. I wish we could have visited more shops and restaurants in Carloforte. And I wish we could have stayed some extra days to visit a beach or two. And that is just the basics. As a nature lover, I’d love to return to this island when the Eleonora’s falcons are nesting in the cliffs of the LIPU Nature Reserve.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Tuelada is a small but charming town in the hills above several really wonderful beaches. There are a few good restaurants and a great corner cafe for drinks and snacks, a couple of grocery stores, pharmacy, Bakery and beach shop. Great place for exploring the southeast coast.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 6.0
It is not worth visiting.
It is not worth visiting. We would extend our stay in Carloforte instead. The island is right next door to Carloforte, but a completely different vibe, no infrastructure, no service on any of the beaches, and a little "dead" (in June anyway). There was one great restaurant we ate at on both nights, and that was the only highlight of our stay.Guest review byElenaUnited States - 8.0

It’s an old mining town (coal). Interesting place to visit due to history on how the town came about. But the town itself is so so…. Iglesias however is nice and younger crowd, plenty of restaurants and more lively. Iglesias is highly recommended to visitGuest review byGenevieveSwitzerland - 10.0

We were unlucky as during our 3-day stay the sea got very rough, the Mistral was blowing, so we only managed to get into the sea one day. I can imagine it must be very different if you can go out on the dinghy tours of the caves etc. I would strongly recommend driving to Nebida and doing the walk along the sea towards the Pan di Zucchero views. The SP83, the road into and out of Buggerru, requires quite strong driving skills and nerves. We preferred the route southward.Guest review byElenaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Fantastic location for hill walkers, many walks & a Camino all around. Great history regarding mining as there were many including the famous Porto Flavio. Lovely pizza restaurant in Nebida overlooking the sea, well worth a visit. Nearby town Iglesias is lovely & we had a great lunch in Al Risto, highly recommended, free glass of prosecco on arrival, so welcome on a hot day.Guest review byBernadetteIreland - 8.0
