Bigger than expected, and the beach(es) is massive!
Bigger than expected, and the beach(es) is massive! Rimini seems the best for people that want to sport by the beach as there is a *TON* of volleyball/beach tennis/so many other sport places along the whole shoreline. That being said, I hoped the beaches/sea would be nicer. It doesn't have really clear waters or anything, and it's way too shallow for my taste - you have to walk far to get to proper depth. I'd guess it's great for children thanks to it though, no stones (just very fine sand) and shallow waters. Good for building sand castles and just splashing around. Nice historical city center, good "miniatures" park nearby, easy trip to San Marino - all easily possible even on foot/by bus.Guest review byLadislavCzech Republic - 8.0

There are lots of road works being done at the moment, many of them seem to be for the tram line. I'm not sure how long this is gonna last but I'm sure a visit to Bologna would be much better after the construction sites have cleared up. It also seemed less packed with tourists than Firenze (Florence), prices in the historic centre are still high but the people are definitely more local.Guest review byANLFinland - 8.0

Riccione is a very cool town, ideal if you're looking for a vacation where relaxation and fun take center stage. It may not boast the historical past of Rimini (which dates back to Roman times), but it’s packed with high-end shops, great restaurants, cinemas, and more — so you won’t have any trouble finding something interesting to do. This year, the municipality launched an International Festival dedicated to TV series, with a program featuring premieres and interviews with famous screenwriters, directors, and actors. If you're a night owl, you can spend the night in one of the many clubs nestled in the surrounding hills.Guest review byDanieleMOItaly - 10.0

Cesenatico has got a very nice beach and a nice vibe as well. Distances are all walkable. Despite the many people around, everyone seems to be relaxed and friendly. Beach (Paradiso Beach) is pleasant and safe. Plenty of bars/restaurants/shops/markets as well. It was my second time in Cesenatico and would definitely return.Guest review byDannyBelgium - 8.0

If you want to avoid the touristy cities in Italy, Parma is the place to visit. We travelled by train from Milan, so no need for a car. Easy to walk around, plenty of history and of course the Food is what the city is most famous for.Guest review bySandys - 8.0
We really liked Cattolica.
We really liked Cattolica. It offers plenty of entertainment options, the beach is clean, and you can visit several other cities in near proximity (and the Republic of San Marino). The free, public beach in Cattolica is quite small and uninspiring. The rest is covered with private resorts that offer sunbeds and umbrellas at pretty high prices. We also didn't like that the sea bottom and water are often covered in crushed shells and seaweed.Guest review bySuzana - 10.0

The venue was well placed for railways and surrounded by the many beautiful sights of local churches, sites and eateries. You can spend hours just walking around locally to see the many sites and features. We wished we lived nearer to visit again.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Modena is a perfect city to visit for travelers looking to enjoy food as a primary activity, but at a slower pace. It is a very easy city to navigate by foot, but has many farms in the surrounding countryside offering meats, cheeses and most importantly, balsamic vinegar. We came to check the place out and left wishing we were able to stay a couple days more.Guest review bymtantillSpain - 8.0

It surely once was glorious but now, loads of destinations offer better and cheaper. Service is sometimes unpleasant, they are unlike other italian cities charging you just to sit in the restaurant (while they also insist you go and sit down to bring the coffee and charge you more for it just because they brought it to you), the city is not cheap at all. While it is being renewed from all parts and it starts to look pretty as it already is, they should consider the well informed customers in the world nowadays. Otherwise, people will check-in elsewhere.Guest review byRudySpain
