FAQs about hotels in Campania
Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins
Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.
Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.
The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.
Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.
Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 211 reviewsWe spent a lovely week at Le Palme Resort and felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The bungalow was spotless, and the location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach and close to everything we needed. A few moments of noise here and there, but nothing that spoiled our relaxing holiday. The resort’s entertainment team, made our week unforgettable. Their energy, friendliness, and ability to engage both kids and adults really brought the place to life. Every show and activity felt fresh and fun ,it added so much to our holiday We left feeling rested and would happily come back. missing the resort already 😢Guest review byAntonellaUnited Kingdom

The concierge recommended a speed boat trip, which also exceeded our expectations, everything was perfect down to the last detail. Thank you!Guest review byEwaPoland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,377 reviewsRich decorated building. Very nice territory. We slept well, enjoyed our breakfast and spent some very peaceful hours here. There was some event in the evening in the banquet hall, but it doesn't interfere. Seems that it's a place for events so may be it's not so comfortable in other days We loved rose bushes (red and white) and saw two cats black and white. I think there can be a kind of story :)Guest review byDariaGreece

Naples is a must see city to visit and you will needs days not hours to appreciate just how much it has to offer. It may not be the cleanest of cities and it breaks my heart to see how little regard there is for its cleanliness, but its cobble stones lanes, food, art and history this place is a dream to realise.Guest review byAntonellaAustralia - 6.0
The town was quiet and relaxed and pleasant to walk around.
The town was quiet and relaxed and pleasant to walk around. It was much smaller than anticipated and compared to other cities, it had limited tourist attractions. As seasoned Italian travellers and explorers, from Lake Garda to Calabria and everything in-between, there was nothing outstanding about the city and its views compared to its nearby neighbours of the towns of Amalfi and Ravello. Sadly, we were both somewhat underwhelmed.Guest review byMike OrUnited Kingdom - 10.0
This is just a wonderful place.
This is just a wonderful place. We were there in August which should be high season but it wasn't too crowded. You of course have to have some tourism so that restaurants and shopping will thrive and for us this is just the perfect balance. Not too many people "in your way" but still enough to have a variety of restaurants, shops and all sorts of services. We will 100% be returning to Ischia... most likely more than once and more than twice.Guest review byGunnar GeirIceland - 10.0

The old town of Salerno is well worth exploring with cobbled streets and hidden passageways. Excellent food options. There’s a nice wide pedestrian promenade along the Marina to walk up to old town. The port has ferries to take trips to the Amalfi coast. We went to Amalfi and got the bus up to Ravello (on our host’s recommendation). Make sure you buy your bus ticket before catching the bus. Ravello is stunning - up high with views along the coast.Guest review byChrisUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Capri is great to explore via taxi, get up early and head up to Ana Capri, less traffic more intimate area. The chair lift is a must to the top of the mountain, and lunch up top of the mountain is amazing. Capri is nice in the evenings to walk around and shop with plenty of places to get cocktails, and explore.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Amalfi is a small and charming town with beautiful architecture and a lovely atmosphere. However, since it’s the central town of the entire Amalfi Coast, it tends to get very crowded — which unfortunately takes away some of its charm. That said, it’s still worth a visit, especially to admire its history and beauty. But I highly recommend exploring the nearby towns as well — like Positano, Atrani, Maiori, Minori, and others — each of them has its own unique character and is often much more peaceful and authentic.Guest review byLiza ManijaLatvia - 10.0

Pompeii is a great place to visit, particularly for the archaeological site. People around the town itself are friendly and there are lots of good eating places. There are lots of places to stay within a short walking distance to the ruins itself.Guest review byJillItaly - 6.0

Beautiful place with unreal views. Paths of Gods is a must. Rent a Vespa to maximise your experience and visiting nearby towns. Be prepared to be completely ripped off for everything, food, drink is ridiculously expensive.Guest review byRoss - 8.0
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town.
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town. The Royal Palce is jaw dropping and it is a 8E return train ride from Naples. With a car, there are many fantastic Roman sites and a spectacular coastline within 30k. The town has quite a number of excellent Pizza restaurants, all competitively priced.Guest review bypaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city is medium and what I don't like but this looks to be Italian style, they close the shops/stores to early ( about 20:30 ) ; for me a place on the sea cost acting like this is unusual !Guest review byPANTEA
