- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 390 reviewsStaying at Tigh Fitz was one of the highlights of our trip to Ireland! Penny, the host, was kind and thoughtful and so welcoming, and our room was beautiful and comfortable: it overlooked Galway Bay and had a lovely bed and wonderfully hot shower. Penny provided a totally delicious breakfast every morning, and Tigh Fitz is in a perfect location from which to explore the island. We just loved our stay, and hope to return.Guest review byKatherineUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 465 reviewsHad an excellent time at Ard Einne. Place was spotless with a quaint room with an amazing view overlooking the beach and island. Clodagh checked us in and gave us a detailed recommended itinerary of things to do which we did and saw amazing sights like the old ruins/beaches/serpents lair. Breakfast was good with a few options including vegetarian if you wanted.Guest review byalanaCanada

Cute little town - convenient to the ferry. Lovely scenery.
Cute little town - convenient to the ferry. Lovely scenery. Great if you hike or bike(unless it’s raining, which it was for us). Pub food is about the only option, it’s a little elevated at the Hotel. We took the hop on bus, only two stops, not a tour - the driver didn’t say much. We had to walk a little further to make it easy on the driver, not a great customer experience. Two days is plenty.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 8.0
Great island to visit. Its is busy as expected in summer.
Great island to visit. Its is busy as expected in summer. Hire bikes to get around. Dun Angus is a must visit. Nice beach to visit. It's a good 40 mins cycles to get there and 15 mins walk up to cliff top! Food is expensive as expected on peak summer visit.Guest review byAndrewIreland - 10.0
Excellent property and fantastic hosts.
Excellent property and fantastic hosts. Great communication when I had an email query. Lovely extras like milk and bread in the fridge when we arrived. Absolutely spotless property and very well equipped. The bathrooms were lovely and there was plenty hot water. Lots of space, it's a huge house! Plenty entertaining space. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!Guest review byMarianIreland - 8.0
Outside the town is more interesting than inside.
Outside the town is more interesting than inside. But avoid the minibus tours. Our driver, John, spent five frickin' hours driving around trying to find more passengers, during which time he showed us only two of the sights. He also spent some of the time essentially providing a taxi service, and treated his taxi customers with much more consideration than his tour passengers. It was a waste of our money and a much bigger waste of our limited time on the island.Guest review byKarenUnited States - 10.0
The island is absolutely isolated.
The island is absolutely isolated. Only transportation is bicycles. Most tourists arrive on the morning ferry and leave on the evening ferry so when you stay overnight, it is very, very quiet and isolated. We really loved that part of it! “Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0

A shorter list such as tidy up after cooking and that emptying bins and removing shoes to protect floors and general things not a long check list for a cleaner to do and insyring a drop of milk is there for guests as the shop may be closed on arrival also if we had of know this we would have got bits before arrival so advising guests to be prepared be greatGuest review byJohnIreland - 10.0

We highly highly recommend Aran Bike Hire - they couldn't have been nicer kitting us out with bikes. Then, when we had a non bike related wrist break, Michael & team came to our rescue - driving the patient to meet the on-call doc; then to our accommodation to wait for the ferry & then directly to the ferry with an ambulance to meet us in Rossaveal. We really appreciated the Aran islanders' care and warmth - we felt treated as family. It came as no surprise to us to hear from AnnMarie that the islanders sponsor the annual visit of the Little Blue Heroes Foundation charity for ill children and their families.Guest review byHeidiIreland - 10.0
There is lots to see and do on the island.
There is lots to see and do on the island. Lots of history and prehistoric monuments. If you are into live music, there's no shortage of that. The Islanders we met were kind and welcoming. We have dietary restrictions, but we're still able to find decent food to eat. There are some spectacular views, and Poll na bPéist in particular is definitely worth a visit.Guest review bySiobhánIreland
