Galway wasn't our favorite place to stay.
Galway wasn't our favorite place to stay. We enjoyed our day trips outside of Galway, but the traffic in and around Galway was terrible. I even asked a local and he said the traffic was always that bad. The buses we took to the city center was 45 minutes late according to the bus schedule which was probably due to traffic.Guest review byPaulUnited States - 8.0

Local pubs were fun and the people very friendly. Started at The Railway, visited the Sligo Abbey then ate and had a couple pints of Guinness at Hargodan’s after went to O’Neill’s Bar to finish off the evening.Guest review byAnonymous - 10

Lovely town, with fantastic pubs and great buzz, and lots of friendly locals. Enjoyed Lough Ree up the road for a cold but invigorating swim, and soaking up the considerable local history and culture.Guest review byKeithUnited Kingdom - 10

we almost didnt think of traveling this far north, but Westport is well worth the drive. A special treat was the Westport House and grounds, which were in walking distance of the property. This is just the loveliest place to visit and stay a while.
This is just the loveliest place to visit and stay a while. The tourist office will guide you to great things to do! Guys on the Main Street is a good choice for eating. There are many restaurants to choice from. It’s easy to walk around the town and window shop. And if you can visit whilst the arts festival is on, that’s even better! You’ll want to return…Guest review byAnonymous - 10

Cleanliness in the room is first class.
Cleanliness in the room is first class. Furnitures are shiny and spotless up to the highest standard. Staffs were professional and welcoming. Friendly and very happy to help. From the moment we arrived in the hotel, the accommodation delivered on every promise of comfort and luxury. When we entered our room, the smell was lovely and refreshing, the bed looks so beautiful and comfy, room very clean and presented nicely and bathroom very clean and shiny. A special thank you to the staff Trixie and Jackie for making our stay so memorableGuest review byAnonymous - 6.0
Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The National Museum of Ireland is just a few minutes drive away. Castlebar is ideally located for exploring County Mayo. The local library is excellent too with very friendly helpful staff who were only too willing to help with a little family history enquiry. We only stayed for one night and had our main meal in Lana, an Asian restaurant. The food was lovely and plentiful. So much so, we didn't bother with breakfast the following day.Guest review byGeorgeUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Ballina is like most towns or cities now.
Ballina is like most towns or cities now. Outside influences are starting to take hold. The addition of some of the fast food shops and multiple barbers is a manifestation I find worrying. The old charm of the town is not what it was.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants.
Roscommon has several diverse pubs and restaurants. Breakfast tends to open at 09:00 and service ends about 21:00. Pubs stay open till 23:00 or so weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The circle K is 24 hours. Some pizza places stay open and serve till 23:30. It has several men's and women's clothing shops. Pharmacies and gift shops. Other dry goods and a Supervalue and Tesco. It is a very walkable town and both the Castle and Old Abbey are a few walking minutes from downtown. We ate at the Cozy Cafe( closed Sundays), The Rogue Cafe and The Pantry for breakfast. All were very pleasant. We liked Ryan's Bar. Quietish and Michael was a great host/barman. We had dinner at Regans, Jackson's and China King. ~€100 for three adults with wine. We really enjoyed the walkable nature of the town. Especially, coming back to Tatlers Guesthouse after spending time at the pubs.Guest review byMatthewUnited States
