Neano Escape - Just remember this name for the gorgeous hotel in Bali. We stayed here for a week. As we walked through the lobby, we were immediately struck by the beautiful and friendly front desk where we were greeted by the Kuskus manager. Many thanks for upgrade our room as a complimentary! The staff throughout the hotel were very professional, friendly and extremely helpful. They always greeting and smiling to us. The breakfasts were amazing. The location is very quiet and very much relaxing, especially at the pool area. The room was very spacious and well equipped with all essentials and fantastic view. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to the tourists who want to go to Bali. Will be back to Neano definitely!

This place is absolutely gorgeous and amazing. Catherine and Laurent, the owners, created a luxurious little paradise in a very quite and beautiful location in northeast Bali. You will not find a better place to relax and enjoy the time. We spent 4 days in this magnificent place and we regretted that we had to leave. Catherine, Laurent and their staff provided an outstanding and exceptional service. Everyone is so welcoming we felt immediately being „home“. The owners and staff are amazing and are going above and beyond to make every moment of our stay perfect. The breakfast and dinners are excellent and delicious. Very tranquil quiet place to re connect with nature, falling asleep with the sound of the waves and waking up with the song of the birds is very relaxing The food is amazing they have a wide variety of traditional and western dishes They have a diving school in the way, but the instructions are already there and they showed me the Reef by snorkeling!     Really laidback bungalows with great ocean views. the bungalows are the most spacious I stayed in for this price range, the open sky bathrooms are unexpected and cool. we even had a palm tree in our bathroom, giving a tropical jungle feeling. the bungalows are along a quiet stretch of the beach with good restaurants in walking distance. the snorkling is really good, saw sharks and turtles right in front of the resort. the staff is super attentive but chill at the same time. they are usually around, if you need anything, they will help and give useful recommendations. i will for sure come back to this place. thank you so much!

    First of all the staff.. Nyoman and Made and Ketut made this place extra special. Their humour and their kindness and hospitality was amazing and made the best breakfast ever. Will always remember them and hope to meet again. Felt like family. The villas were rustic and traditional and lovely outdoor bathrooms in some. Huge pools in both and we loved the 3 BR and 5 BR for different reasons. Felt sooo lucky to stay an extra 5 days in larger villa. Definitely coming back

    Great place to stay in Candidasa! The staff were so nice and friendly, breakfast included was great and they even offered to serve it after the city off time! The pool and seating area is right on the beach so you hear the waves which is v nice. The beach is quiet and clean and very easy to get to from the property. Definitely recommend and would stay again :)

    Lovely breakfast by the beach in the hotel restaurant. The reef is intact with beautiful corals and fish and I it was a short swim from the beach to see them. There are boat rides to farther reefs, cars to sunset viewing and visits to holy sites, temples and waterfalls. This was a small, very peaceful and well maintained property.

    Amed is nice but if you don’t have a scooter or your own...

    Amed is nice but if you don’t have a scooter or your own transport, expect to pay high prices for transport compared to other parts of Bali. Also people there seem a bit sad and not as friendly and happy as other parts of Bali. The beach is nice and the place is very quiet and not overcrowded, which is great but if you are looking for that lovely Balinese culture and hospitality, you might struggle to find it here.

    Beautiful location, stunning views, refreshingly not overdeveloped. For me it was a glimpse of the real Bali. Activities include walking through rice fields, swimming in waterfalls and making your own silver jewellery with the help of skilled local artisans

    Contrary to some reviews of Padangbai being a dodgy back...

    Contrary to some reviews of Padangbai being a dodgy back water town, we found it to be a hidden gem. Lovely beaches and good places to swim and snorkel. Much smaller than I anticipated and far less humbug and mass tourism than other parts of Bali. Would definitely recommend staying here a couple of days, especially if catching an onward boat to other islands in Indonesia.

    I have been travelling around Bali for some time and I have come to a conclusion. Bali is about Earth Energy and there are 4 elements in which it excels. Central Bali, Ubud and heading North for Jungle Energy....intense and slightly chaotic. The Peninsula for expansive Ocean Energy, connecting you to something bigger, and Rock Energy...grounding, stabilising. Then you have Candidasa. Candidasa is the Energy of the Hills, the Green Healing Hills. Take your bike off the main road and you will be driving closer and closer to the foot, then keep driving, up and up, for absolutely breath taking views of dense greenery with traditional structures scattered in the distance. Breathtaking.

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great...

    An off beat location, which is actually peaceful and great for nature lovers, adventure seekers and history lovers. It is close to the mother temple of Bali (15 minutes), Blue lagoon diving and Snorkeling, p Pura Tirta and the most amazing rafting site. So a 3-night stay at this place is ideal to cover east Bali and then you can go to Ubud.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven.

    We stayed just one night to visit the Gates of Heaven. I feel is enough to see the surroundings and have a feel of the place. We found the tickets a bit expensive. I mean is a nice place but not to pay 10$. You can see Tirtagangga in 20 minutes, depending on whether you are an instagramer and you take selfies in every corner, then you can stay there for over an hour, although is very difficult to take good selfies as there are people everywhere. Around the entrance, there are a few restaurants and shops. But please I would say to the owners or whoever takes care of this place, tell people not to feed the fish. They are huge! and it's because the shops nearby sell food so you can take a picture with the fish.

    Seraya is definitely a place to recommend. If you are looking for authenticity, pristine beaches (Virgin beach), local culture (Lempuyang Temple, Tirta Gangga Water Palace & Local Coffee Farm, etc.), you will definitely love the place!

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples.

    It's a surfers paradise but not for us old couples. The place will be very nice if the owner take time to make it clean like clean sheets, new mattress with on bed bugs. The bathroom and toilets spruced up. Nothing much to see there except to surf and relax.

    I went to Amed to learn Free Diving.

    I went to Amed to learn Free Diving. Its 3 hour from Bali airport by car. a nice small village. Many good restaurants and Massage Places and Yoga Places. No Shopping just enjoy the beach. Can rent a scooter or use taxi to get around Amed. The beach has coral and fishes and turtles. The water is dark blue and the sand is nearly black .
