FAQs about hotels in Bali
An Island Dream
The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.
The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.
On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.
Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.
Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 349 reviewsKamandalu is the best villa we have ever stayed in Ubud. The villa is gorgeous and beautiful, and the staff there are so welcoming and friendly. I would especially give my big thanks to lady Sukma who works at the front desk. She helped me a lot in printing my document for work and she also tried very hard to take photos of the document! I really appreciate her assistance so much🙏 The restaurant is wonderful as well. The food there is so delicious that I can go there everyday😀 Ketu the chef is great and so are other staff working there! You could see their lovely smiles while working almost all the time! The spa of Kamandalu is also good and we enjoyed the massage treatments very much. The therapists are both so experienced and skillful. We really enjoyed the time we spent in Kamandalu and it is indeed a five-star villa estate that you will not regret to visit and stay.Guest review byKai WenTaiwan

We have stayed in Ubud about 4 times over the last 8 years and during this time it has gotten very busy making the streets overcrowded and difficult to navigate. As a positive the locals have always been very nice and are one of the best features of anywhere in Bali.Guest review byPhillipAustralia - 6.0
Great for family and learners surfing watching.
Great for family and learners surfing watching. Great swimming pool swimming - temperature good not cold like Ubud! Near to the wonderful perfect Poppies Restaurant [10 mins walk] been "the place" since 1973 I believe. Go there most days - hidden in a garden and every single staff is lon term and part of the Poppies experience.Guest review byRobertSingapore - 8.0

I’ve travelled to Bali a lot over the years but have never stayed in Canggu. It has really top quality restaurants, shops and spas. But I wouldn’t be rushing back the traffic was a terrible and getting Around took so long to get anywhere. The trip to the airport took 2 1/2 hours which was approximately 17 klm from where I was staying and not in peak hour!!!Guest review bysally thomasAustralia - 4.0
Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (...
Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (before Covid). It is no longer the "awesome value" holiday destination. Most (probably all) the accommodation and eateries are owned by ex-pat Aussies and, as a consequence, the prices you pay for eating out and accommodation are "Melbourne" prices - eg. Spice Mantra entrees are around AU$16 plus about 20% in additional taxes. Maybe the business owners are trying to make up for what they lost during Covid??? I think that is why other holiday destinations (such as Vietnam) are becoming more popular.Guest review byWILKINSONAustralia - 10.0

Uluwatu is awesome but very busy now compared to other years. We loved the location of our villa, very central yet so quiet for how busy it is in Padang Padang. Easy to get around. Villa was beautiful we didn't want to leave! Could have done with a tv for quiet night in that's about it. The ladies at the office are lovely but quite pushy with payments when you book things and communication sometimes a bit mixed up. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay :)Guest review byJennaNew Zealand - 8.0
Great restaurants. Great paths along beach.
Great restaurants. Great paths along beach. Super mall with designer shops. Felt safe. Downside would be they are digging up the pavements which will be good for future travellers but was quite hazardous presently.Guest review bylorraineAustralia - 8.0

Each beach very different,so travelled quite a bit to get to them-lots to see & do away from the beach eg visited the elephant sanctury, released day old turtles on kuta beach.Ubud was a great place to visit-we went to an indonesian dance show at the palace which was amazing, great markets here but be where the traffic here is horrendous!Guest review bygillianUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The area had everything a traveller to Bali required.
The area had everything a traveller to Bali required. The footpaths could do with some repair but the streets and surrounds to reasonably clean. We visited several bars and eateries and none disappointed although the "Steak Project" was a bit on the expensive side. Plenty of shopping areas and spas for a massage or three.Guest review byHill
