- From US$191.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 693 reviewsThis is a great place, accessible by boat, usually from the Sundogs bar who will call the Lodge for you. Tortugal has a great restaurant & bar with reasonable prices & apart from a big lunch one day in Livingstone, we didn't eat anywhere else. They can also do a fantastic plate of chicken nachos for a light meal in the evening in those circumstances The room we had was a hut right on the river itself with a large bedroom, a great balcony & hammock. The bathroom however is small - but that is similar to many places in Central America. Hot water in both the shower & sink - unusual in Central America, but no shampoo supplied which is unusual Free coffee was available each morning from 6am & we would get this & just sit on our balcony & watch the river waking up before breakfast. Angela the Manager was superb, extremely helpful & great company at breakfast & dinner. They can do laundry for you & I would highly recommend this place.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 276 reviewsEverything! Cannot fault a thing. The lodge is beautiful. The service outstanding. The price is right for the area and location. We experienced the worst storm they had in 12 years. Rain, wind leaves and branches flying everywhere at the start of dinner service. The staff did a great job at keeping calm and functioning under pressure. They even cleaned in no time no had dinner served for everyone after the worst was over, I was more then impressed as this was going above and beyondGuest review bySILVIAAustralia

Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing.
Rio Dulce is a great spot to vacation, it's very relaxing. If you want more night life...then probably best to stay in Livingston. If you are ever in Livingston, the best Tapado was at a small restaurant Restaurante Gabby!! Unforgettable!! El Viajero didn't come close in flavor, maybe we just went on a bad day. Must see Siete Altares, beautiful waterfalls and blue turquoise water. We never felt unsafe, it's a very tranquil place in Rio Dulce.Guest review byNoemiUnited States - 8.0

Great spot on the Rio Dulce from which to visit other places on the river away from the congestion and noise of the towns of Livingston and Rio Dulce (actually Fronteras). The manatee preserve, the island of birds (Isla de Pájaros), Burnt Key (Cayo Quemado) and the canyon of the Rio Dulce are all relatively close. We enjoyed having lunch over at Mini-Mike’s Juke Joint on Burnt Key and at Casa Nostra in Livingston. Both of which have their own docks so we went directly by boat (arranged by Tenamit Maya for very reasonable prices).Guest review byThomasGuatemala - 4.0

If you travel solo you can't do anything as it's just for groups else yours are in excess of £250! It's not safe to hike to seven altars alone (I was told by locals) so it's just very far for no reason. The bus from GC was supposed to be 5 hours but it was 11!Guest review byAndreaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
