We got a free upgrade to a room with sea view and jacuzzi. The jacuzzi was even filled for us at no extra charge for the room. The room was very clean and modern. The staff were super friendly and very helpful at all times. A pillow menu helped to find the perfect pillow for a good night's sleep. Every morning there was a different egg dish, which was always freshly prepared. The buffet was delicious, fresh and included different things every day. Super central location. The private car can be parked for free in the adjacent residential area (but you need some time to find a parking space) or in a nearby parking lot for a fee (about 14 euros per day).

Eleven is a lovely little hotel in Stavromenos, about 10-15 minutes drive from Rethymno. I loved the pool, spacious room, view from the room, tasty breakfast and the staff. Everything seemed to be new, rooms were cleaned and towels changed daily. It is a bit far from everything so car is recommended but this worked great for us as we wanted to spend our vacation in a quiet spot anyway. All in all, a wonderful experience.

    A nice hotel that pleases with its quality as soon as you enter it. The check-in procedure is just great, I have never seen such service anywhere else. There is no need to stand in line for check-in, they take the documents and tell everything in detail about the hotels at the table with drinks. The overall impression of the hotel is very positive. The area is large, very clean, the food is delicious and varied, the children have their own table with healthy food. The private sandy beach is protected by a stone ridge, so it is still safe to swim there with children in strong winds and waves. The water park is suitable for all ages, both small and large. There are many rescuers who keep order. The hotel has a lot of staff and attention to guests, we did not stand in queues at the bar, the waiters worked quickly, everything is very clean. Free self-service laundry. I highly recomended this hotel for families with kids.

    The hotel had everything, nice view, many sunbeds, varmpool cold pool and beach at the door. Staff was amazing and very good hygiene. The rooms had new renovation and was beautiful. The food was also amazing with a lot of verity but the best thing was the pizza at evening, big ups to him for best pizza I eat. Even the animation team was very good for organizing activities they had a lot of creativity and both good and strong personalities that makes the days even better to have fun with them.     This is the perfect getaway for peace and quiet. The hotel has preserved the traditional aspects of this old Cretan village. Every room has it's own individual style, which is lovely. There is a welcome drink and a tour offered at check-in. The room itself (we had the Hyades room) was very spacious with all amenities needed. I particularly enjoyed the bath products. Cute little swimming pool with yummie snacks and drinks and the best fries i have ever had. Staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast options were good, a few traditional Cretan products as well. Good coffee.

    We loved the outstanding hospitality from the moment we arrived – the staff was always attentive and greeted us with a warm smile, regularly checking if we needed anything. The à la carte restaurant (Chef’s) was absolutely delicious, accompanied by wonderful live music. Breakfast exceeded our expectations with its variety and quality. We stayed in three different types of rooms, all of which were comfortable and well-maintained. The pool area was fantastic, and the entire hotel was exceptionally clean throughout our stay.

    We booked this while we were already in Crete and didn`t checked a lot befor booking. When we arrived we were absolutely amazed! The hotel is located in an amazing spot, great views, beach, pools, restaurant and rooms. We were upgraded to a suite and it was awesome, everything clean, the staff was always nice and helpful. All inclusive is definitely worth it, we even decided to stay more days after our first booking. Definitely the place you want to stay in Crete.

    The hotel is beautiful. It really does take you to your own little paradise. Everything is easy to find and there’s plenty of great facilities. The hotel rooms were a great size and had everything you needed including a free minibar. Towels for the pool were available, the sunbeds were beautiful overlooking the pools (there are three beautiful pools!). The restaurant serves amazing food and the staff were so amazing and friendly

    The best stay in Crete. We were in four different hotels while in Crete and Duo Suites was the best. The service was excellent. Chrysa was especially attentive and friendly.     The Old Town is full of history and narrow streets that need to be explored. There are so many excellent eating places to choose from with cocktail bars and ice cream shops you could eat somewhere different every night for weeks. Favourites include Cafe Galero and Taverna MInares. The Venetian Harbour is lovely walk with restaurants all round The front by the Old Town has plenty of bars which in the evening are full of young people enjoying themselves and although there is music its not too loud as you go past. All along the beach are cafes and bars which offer a good selection for all day eating. Having stayed there a week I now prefer it to Chania, much more going on in an easier access area and less crowded. (unless cruise ship in which is much less often- long may it stay that way)

    A very good base for very many superb beaches in southern Crete, with a nice beach within the town, some great shops and very good eating options both within the town and the surrounding villages. Not spoiled by mass tourism as many other places in the island, yet neither too remote and hard to reach. Just perfect.

    Adorable, quaint and full of charm.

    Adorable, quaint and full of charm. At night the village centre close the roads, bring out the tables and chairs and the streets are filled with the sights, smells and sounds of Cretan joy. One of the places I will miss the most and can’t wait to return too.

    A small vibrant fishing village which offers plenty of restaurants and accommodations. The beach is clean but a little small. Water is clean with access via a short walk from the village centre. It is quite hilly and may present problems for certain visitors. Evenings are very lively with many restaurants and some shops. It is centrally placed for journeys to others beaches and destinations such as Matala, Spili and so on.

    Our main. reason for visiting the area was because we were attending a wedding. I did find that Adelianos Kampos was located near to a lot of pick ups for tours around Crete to allow you to experience other areas around the island. Many places to eat around the area, but none that really stuck out for me that I would recommend. Just walk around the area because there is much to choose from.

    I really like Platanes, it's not too far from the busy Rethymno centre and slightly more relaxed than being near the main areas, but still has nice restaurants and beach bars etc. and good access to main roads etc. if you like to get out and adventure without getting stuck in congestion, which can sometime be found neare to centre.

    Very near the sea. 2 very good supermarkets, bakery and chemist. Good restaurants. Not hectic busy so excellent for relaxing break.Local villages of Asteri and Chamalevri within walking distance. As is Pagkalochori which has Asani monastery. Wonderful authentic Cretan experience.

    The villa is well placed and suitable for up to 4 people. The local cafes and tavernas provide great food and drink at reasonable prices. The beach is lovely and less crowded than the naturist beach which looked very busy. We used Damnoni water sports for paddleboarding and kayak and they were excellent

    It's a quiet village with very friendly people and along the beach road you very quickly arrive at the next village that has a mini market and 3 or 4 tavernas. It's not for people looking for nightlife and shops. A car is needed to get there and to be able to go to bigger town with shops and other sights of interest. Our favourite places in Rodakino were Korakas beach cafe; Super market Zafeirakis where the lady was friendly and helpful and Nikos & Anna Taverna. Just a little further away the taverna at Peristeres beach is definitely my favourite place to eat.
