- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 239 reviewsThe apartment was beautiful and new, the bathroom was broken and there was water leaking in the floors. There is no washer and dryer. I asked the host to extend it and unfortunately he extended the reservation from outside the booking site without informing me. He greedily overcharged my card and did not accept a refund on the last night, before which I canceled the reservation 24 hours earlier under the pretext of no other customers. He also raised the price by £1 for each previous night and no refunds were ever given. After a long conversation, only 50% of the last night was refunded.Guest review byRashaSaudi Arabia
- From £152 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 432 reviewsAll the staff in Royal Sportsman Hotel were super nice but professional — offering suggestions on where to eat, what to do, how to go to attractions etc. They were clearly short-staffed — I saw many of them worked long hours (especially the F&B members) but yet they were cheery and helpful to me throughout my stay. The room was exceptional, cosy and clean. The location was only 5 minutes walk from Porthmadog train station.Guest review byYvonneSingapore
- From £194.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 133 reviewsSuch a unique experience staying in a beautifully restored 600-year-old farmhouse B & B. Host/chef Robin is a fascinating person and we loved chatting with him. The meals we had (paid dinner and included breakfast) in front of the medieval fireplace were simply outstanding—the best we had in Wales. (Robin very kindly accommodated us for dinner when we had overlooked an email inviting us to preorder.)Guest review byNicoleCanada
- From £159 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 780 reviewsWe’ve stayed here before, it’s a lovely property in an ideal location, surrounded by Snowdonia National Park and close to Barmouth etc. The inclusive breakfast was fantastic, they use great produce and there’s plenty on offer. Room 310 was brilliant for our group of 6, there was plenty of room and storage, and the modern bathroom was as one would expect. Great property at a very competitive price!Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a...
Pretty Village focused around a railway station within a steep sided valley. Several camping / outdoor shops but don't expect bargains as the prices are similar or even slightly higher than elsewhere due to the "captive audience" of people in the area to enjoy the outdoors. Many eating out options, most of which are also hotels and offer broadly similar menus of "pub grub" / "grill" type food. Also a very popular Indian restaurant and a couple of Pizza places, and one Tapas. The Chinese was closed when we visited. If you prefer to self cater there is a Spar and a Londis with a decent bakery within the Spar. We visited at the end of the school holiday season and we thought all the food places were surprisingly quiet except the Pizza place in the station, the curry house and the Royal Oak hotel. There also didn't seem to be any sign of "nightlife" to speak of, even on Friday night (maybe people are too tired after outdoor activities?). Some establishments only opened Friday and Saturday nights. Its a good base for the area being at the junction of two main road routes. You can also walk straight out of the village with several way marked routes of varying difficulty, or just doing your own map reading. You can easily spend a day browsing the shops and cafes and taking in the pretty Pont-y-Pair and river rapids. However by day two, you will probably be ready to explore further.Guest review byBenjaminUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need...
A small, compact city that's a little run-down and in need of some government cash to bring more people in. We've never been in such a quiet city centre on a Saturday night; plenty of pubs, not enough people! So many Turkish barbers, so few decent restaurants...and no hotels! Plenty of take-out eateries, but that's not what tourists need! Lovely setting, Welsh government: you're missing out on tourism in Bangor, so splash the cash and glam it up...decent restaurants, a couple of hotels and a modern bar or two. The city should be very grateful for the Black Bull, JD Wetherspoon's, the only busy pub in town!Guest review byAnnetteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely stay in Aberdyfi it was very busy over the Bank Holiday period as usual but that's what make the atmosphere. Recommend if you visit to book restaurants as they get full and be prepared if busy they run out of food quickly so may not have the full menu.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Blaenau-Ffestiniog isn't a place I would choose to revisit.
Blaenau-Ffestiniog isn't a place I would choose to revisit. It's old and tired, situated beside a slate quarry. Most of the pubs have closed. It has two thriving shops, the COOP and Morrisons. The narrow roads, and linear layout were off putting for me, although the railway has always been an popular.Guest review byChrissyNew Zealand
