We liked everything about this hotel. We paid extra for the SUPERIOR room, you get an extra sofa bed if needed. The room was of a good size, bathroom as expected, with a shower over the bath. The room was quiet and warm The TV & WiFi were great. The breakfast was EXCELLENT, English & Welsh Breakfast options. The evening restaurant was very enjoyable, but lacking in atmosphere due to its size. The breakfast room had great views across open countryside. This is a very nice hotel, and YES we would rebook as it's so good, an amazing find in such a beautiful location, easy for the ferry ports, shopping and access to the midlands etc.

Smiles, ambiance, rooms, breakfast, services are the very good points we noticed and that’s why we noted at a right 10. The ratio quality/price is certainly the best (ever) we found during our 4 weeks trip in Wales. Worth the détour. Fred

Carmarthen itself I love, although there's been a lot of changes since I last came down 25 years ago(which is to be expected!). It's still an interesting town centre with a great variety of shops while still retaining a lot of its character and history through it's architecture and inhabitants. The Carmarthenshire countryside is stunning!

Apart from this all was lovely. No hoover available or area to wash your dishes but we made do with shower and hand wash basin so not a problem

It was a good centre for visiting Carmarthenshire, the Gower or the Brecon Beacons. Lots of castles and gardens nearby. Lots of places within about an hour. There were some independent shops in the town, and some nice bars and lunch places, but the Cawdor was the best choice in the evening

It is a lovely place with an ancient castle which has things going on in the year. However, there is little to entertain you after a day or so. the walks around the area are lovely, but you need to be fit, some are very up and down.

We have always liked Newcastle Emlyn.

We have always liked Newcastle Emlyn. The prople are very friendly and there are plenty of shops and places to eat. Harrison's, in my opinion, does the best brunch around. You can also find good food at the Bunch of Grapes a little further down the road. Our favorite Indian is Moe's Spice but you could also try Moonlight Indian. There are also 2 Chinese takeaway restaurants, Super Garden, which is more central, and China Kitchen. You are only about 15 miles to the coast town of Cardigan and the Cardigan Bay area. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area but we generally go for the coastal drives and interesting places along te way.

We chose staying in St Clears as a base to visit the local coast such as Wisemans Bridge, Amroth, Tenby and others. We know the area well & could also suggest Tenby which is more busy. There are also boat trips the the island if Caldy, nice with older children. Enjoy West Wales, we always find the people are so warm & welcoming. We go most years.

A small seaside village but offering a few places to eat and drink. Breakfast at Bistro on the Bay and dinner at The Springwell we’re both lovely. The beach is beautiful and unspoilt - great to see it used by families, dogs, surfers and Blue Tit dippers. Very relaxing sea front and convenient parking

We fell in love with Burry Port last year when we stayed to locate a future area to retire to, we had never heard of Burry Port before and instantly fell in love with it and the surrounding area, Pembrey Park is also nearby and is a must to visit. The coast path runs through Burry Port and is used by cyclists runners and walkers alike. Burry Port also has a train station which runs through to Bristol. Also Amelia Earhart landed in Burry Port harbour, first woman to fly across the Atlantic. Well worth a visit. We are now moving to retire nearby so Burry Port will be on our doorstep.

Llanybydder is a pretty and quiet rural location.

Llanybydder is a pretty and quiet rural location. A really good base for travelling to other attractions. We didn’t spot any eating houses or pubs in the immediate vicinity though which wasn’t a problem for us. New Quay is a small, sweet little place, not commercialised with bucket and spade shops, fab beach, dolphins easy to spot. Recommend The Watch House restaurant there over looking the sea, good service and menu. Our pizza, truffle fries and tapas were very tasty. Aberaeron is a colourful harbour town with pebble beach. Recommend The Hive there, lovely cafe and tasty food. Aberporth beach is sandy and very pretty but no shops to mooch around. Llangrannog beach is another lovely sandy beach. Cenarth Falls is worth walking round, again no shops to mooch in except one, the Salmon Leap gift and cafe. The cafe, altho very small and basic has lovely, friendly staff and their faggots, chips and mushy peas were delicious! Cardigan town didn’t hold a great deal of interest for us.
