FAQs about hotels in Anglesey
A Haven of Wildlife
The small, yet geologically and ecologically important, island of Anglesey is off the north-western coast of Wales. Home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge while he is on RAF duty, the island is known for its rugged coastline, most of which is classified as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Its largest town is Holyhead, set on smaller Holy Island and from where ferries to Ireland depart. Also on this island, Trearddur Bay has a Blue-Flag beach and one of the few Anglesey hotels with swimming pools. Another beautiful beach is found at Cemaes Bay on the main island’s northern coast.
Moelfre, further along the coast, is a sleepy fishing village, while Beaumaris in the east has a 13th-century castle partially surrounded by a moat and looking towards Snowdonia National Park on the Welsh mainland.
To the south-west the elegant Menai Bridge spans one of the narrowest stretches of the Menai Strait, separating Gwynedd from Anglesey. Another bridge makes the crossing in neighbouring Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch – the village with Europe’s longest name, though it’s usually abbreviated to Llanfairpwllgwyngyll which is still quite a mouthful.
Llangefni is in the centre of the island and in its district is Capel Coch, home to the only Anglesey spa hotel, available on Booking.com.

- From $127.45 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very Good - What previous guests thought, 991 reviewsVery happy with my stay in Castle Court. Hotel right in the centre of Beaumaris, walking distance to all attractions, pubs and restaurant. Opposite castle. There's no parking outside the hotel but we have left our car in Green Car Park which is literally 5min walk from the hotel, it costs 5 pounds for 24 hours. Our room was spotless clean and heating was on full speed when we arrived, it was lovely warm and welcoming. Everything you need was in the room including hair dryer and toiletries, tea, coffee etc. Very spacious and comfy bed and plenty of sockets in the room, so could charge your phone and hair dye in the same time :) Usually its only 1 or 2 and and you have to switch something to get something else on. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. There's lovely cosy pub downstairs for non residents but there's also lovely lounge for the hotel guests. So we actually got drinks from the bar and spent time in the lounge around fire place what was amazing. Very relaxing stay and we definitely stay again if in the area. Good value for the price. Can't only comment on the breakfast because we have left very early and didn't eat in the hotel .Guest review byAga SzefUnited Kingdom
- From $187.82 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 488 reviewsWe stayed in one of the gatehouse rooms, a little away from the main hotel. It was absolutely charming, with a sitting room and private parking. Excellent bed and excellent shower, with good pillows (which make an amazing difference between an OK hotel stay and a great hotel stay). Dinner and breakfast at the hotel we’re both very very good, with excellent options for breakfast. The restaurant has beautiful views. Staff was incredibly attentive and very nice. Overall, the hotel was quiet, very clean and very comfortable. definitely would recommend to stay here.Guest review byRobinUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 276 reviewsFirst of all, I congratulate the owner for providing a beautiful, tasteful and scenic holiday home. The suggestions given by former guests were treated seriously. The labels for the cutlery ( including plates) were done. The instructions for opening the indoor windows were permanently displayed. Most important of all, the electric heater provides consistent warm temperature for the whole room and I do not have to shiver in the cold ,winter nights.Truly a memorable and comfortable stay.Guest review byRebeccaSingapore
- From $228.07 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very Good - What previous guests thought, 867 reviewsIt felt like a was visiting a manor house for a visit rather than the usual hotel. We had dinner at Le Dragon Rouge and we all declared it was the best food we had during our entire trip! Kudos to the chef. Likewise the staff were friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the old-fashioned elevator a real adventure to use.Guest review byAmandaUnited States

Menai Bridge is a lovely town, full of cafes, bars and a variety of places to eat and importantly, lots of independent local shops. The bridge, of course is the highlight, it is a really attractive feature - probably the most attractive bridge I have ever encountered. There are boat trips to Puffin Island which as you probably guessed hosts a colony of puffins between April and August, a wonderful sight!Guest review bySandi FawcettUnited Kingdom - 10

The castle. The court house and Gaol. Plenty of independent shops. Wonderful customer service where ever we went. Central Bakery a must. Midland tapas fantastic. The Grove newly opened, a fantastic gluten free option and the food was exceptional. Dylan’s in Menai Bridge for treats and the best sausage rolls. Snowdonia mountain range just stunning.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We were given a room in the annexe which is usually kept for workers who are in Anglesey. It was a very poor room no storage for clothes small toilet /shower room cleanliness was not good the whole place needs a revamp both inside and out . This hotel is not worth the £450 we paid for 3 nights inc breakfast and your company should do more to check these places out prior to recommending them,we had no mirror in the bedroom no hot towel rail in toilet or indeed any place to put wet towels our stay was a complete disaster and we will not stay there again even the kettle had a dead fly in itGuest review byArchieUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The beach was very sandy and not too busy. It was dog-friendly as well. We visited our friend who is one of the locals so we didn't travel about much. We are coming back a month or so later as enjoyed our stay that much!!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0
The shopping Centre by the famous station is nice.
The shopping Centre by the famous station is nice. We ate twice at the cafe there. Service was good, as was the food. We used a local fish and chip shop, and a local Chinese takeaway. It's easy to get around, and handy for A55 to explore further. Close access to the river for walks and for ground level views of the Straits! Anglesey. as a whole, is a lovely place. Ancient origins and magical in places, still.Guest review byGlenysUnited Kingdom - 10
Wales is always a great location to visit.
Wales is always a great location to visit. Rhosneigr had been a family destination for several years prior to this trip, though last visited in the previous century and the eye's much more jaundiced these days! It's relatively quiet out of season, which was the main reason for coming at this time. The island is beautiful and hasn't changed so much in the past 30 years, except better roads (with FAR less caravans!!!).Guest review byMillington - 10
We loved the " feel" of the beautifully decorated caravan.
We loved the " feel" of the beautifully decorated caravan. The space theme in the bedroom with two beds is so tasteful! Outside is a great sitting area and beach toy box. Games and books for youngsters are a lovely bonus! It is situated very near to Benllech shops etc and all is a short walk away.Guest review byAnnUnited Kingdom
