FAQs about hotels in Corsica
From Stunning Mountains to Relaxing Beaches
Beautiful Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea, boasts charming little towns and grand sandy beaches. The birthplace of Napoleon, it's the most mountainous island in the whole Mediterranean and is called the Island of Beauty for a reason.
West of Italy, Corsica is a special French region with its capital in Ajaccio, the island’s largest city, featuring a quiet harbour and plenty of Napoleon memorabilia. Indeed Corsica seems to be a birthplace of history makers, as the town of Calvi claims to be where the great explorer Christopher Columbus was born.
This is a perfect destination for long-distance walking and a lot of people visit every year to try the famous GR 20, the most difficult Corsican trail that takes 17 days to complete. Make sure you enjoy the sunny beaches, most of which offer snorkelling, windsurfing and kite-surfing opportunities.
The local cuisine is a delicious combination of French and Italian influences with many original dishes which will keep your mouth watering. Try the canistrelli pastries, pork meat delicacies and unique chestnut dishes!

- From £114.36 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,034 reviewsThis was the perfect stop on our road trip and had everything we needed especially after a day of adventure. We arrived in time for dinner, restaurant is open 20.00-22.00 and is right on the edge of the sea. Breakfast is also on the terrace and closes at 10am whereas lunch is in a shaded area between two building looking over the pool and the ocean. This place is retro and family owned for decades. It was clean, simple, efficient and with a relaxed ambiance. They have different room types. We stayed in a double room with a terrace. They have a private beach cove right in front of the hotel. It was very good value for money. There is a pedestrian, bike path from the hotel into town along the sea (about 5-6km). We would definitely come back if visiting the west coast of Corsica again.Guest review byMinnaSwitzerland
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 57 reviewsThis was our third stay. Everything that we wanted; quiet, calm although we decided to go close to the end of the season when I feel that the island must be very busy. Expensive but exclusive - apologies if that sounds snobbish - and I think that is also a huge draw for some. Main residents and visitors are Italian and French. The staff are amazing and I really want to highlight those who took particular care of us - Joe from Sardinia, Victor from Monpelier, Luca from Rome and the lovely lovely Barbera our wonderful house keeper. They made everything so much better - if that were possible. This place is our idea of paradise.Guest review byAlisonUnited Kingdom
- From £115.23 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 974 reviewsWe were given a very warm welcome and our request to stay an extra two days graciously accommodated. The hotel is a 15 minute bus journey from the centre of Ajaccio but local transport stops right outside the hotel. Staff very helpful sorting out public transport for the next stage of our Corsica visit. Lovely sandy beach a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Excellent breakfast and value for the money.Guest review byJeanUnited Kingdom

A beautiful little town with a lovely marina and bars to sit and watch the world go by. The town is up quite a steep hill but is a nice, compact centre with a lot to see and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to spend time relaxing and winding down.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city is much more lively than Bastia with a nice art museum a historical museum and several beautiful beaches not far (3 miles) from the city center. Unfortunately, I booked an all day boat trip to Bonifacio which was cancelled due to rough seas. I understand that this is not uncommon so you might consider this when determining your length of stay.Guest review bycarolUnited States - 8.0
The Corsican history is the middle ages.
The Corsican history is the middle ages. And Bastia has plenty on show. The museum is good. The citadel it is located in offers lots of nice restaurants and also a very nice, lovely smelling garden. The churches, in Bastia and in other towns and villages are richly decorated, evidence of great wealth deriving from Corsica's position in the trade routes criss crossing the area.Guest review byHubertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bonifaccio is a beautiful ancient fortified town built on a cliff with a harbour very much protected from the open sea. The town is wonderful to explore, including the citadel on the very top. It’s a good walk up and in the heat less fit people might find it rather too much. Once at the top you can descend on a flight of stairs back under the cliffs which is very steep and has possibly 200 steps - again if you’re not fit and don’t have the right footwear, don’t do it. Up top, there are a number of restaurants in the Corsican style. Around the harbour there are many tourist shops, convenience stores including wonderful little family supermarket built underneath the rocks and some very nice looking but rather expensive restaurants. They do have a wonderful view over the super yachts and the food they were serving looked excellent.Guest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A lovely small town with a nice vibe and plenty of options to get out on the water and explore the coast. The town is great but also easy to get up into the hills for fabulous walks with wild goats and amazing views. A lovely combination of beach/sea and mountain/ forests. We'll be back next year!Guest review byJulietteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful town, folk very friendly considering it is a tourist town. Great for nearby walks, superb river swim spots nearby. Lots of choice for eating drinking chilling. Easily 10 nearby walks from town or using very cheap bus service up valley. Great info available at tourist office, ie detailed walks and maps. Plus mountainbiking up restonica valley. Was never too hot in Mid August 2025.Guest review byAndy - 4.0

Saint Florent is a charming little town about 45 mins from Losari. Unfortunately it’s packed with bars and cafes which serve a purpose but like a lot of places in Corsica mean that there’s little or no space for anything else- just feels like it lacks a bit of culture. Again like most places in Corsica any dish will cost you the standard 20 euros and I was amazed (as with other places in Corsica) how sparse the fish options are on menus- I’d expected it to have been a seafood paradise. So saint florent is ok for the day but given the awful beach (brown water and ridiculous winds) unless you like sipping overpriced cocktails and staring at the super rich on their yachts (who by the way are also getting their kicks from sitting back in luxury and staring at you) there’s not a great deal to do!Guest review byNickUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Our stay in Lucciana was chosen for the closeness to the airport. It was very convenient, and made our 7:30 a.m. departure stress- free. We spent our time near Cervione and Felce to visit relatives and explore the birthplace of grandparents and great-grandparents. Corsica is absolutely beautiful. I visited last as a teenager with my mother in 1962. It's even far more beautiful than I remembered it to be.Guest review byLindaUnited States
