- From US$166.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 1,504 reviewsWe loved our stay here! The hotel has a slightly old-fashioned style, but it’s nice and comfortable. The location is amazing — lakes, trails, nature is around, yet only 10–15 minutes by bike to the city center. We travelled with our dog and got a ground-floor room with direct access to the grass, which was very convenient. The hotel even gave our dog a small gift. Breakfast was varied, with gluten-free options, and even decaf coffee (instant, but still nice). The spa is excellent, with direct access from the hotel (note: saunas are separate for men and women). Staff were friendly and helpful:) Some reviews say that the air conditioning doesn’t work well — this is true. There was a fan in the room, and it got a bit stuffy at night in summer. But opening the window solved the problem, and it was very quiet outside.Guest review byAnastasiiaFinland
- From US$315.71 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 491 reviewsA wide selection of breakfast items, beautifully arranged, served in a stately room facing the lake and the garden. The house and the adjacent buildings were furnished in a mix of styles, creating a welcoming feeling: there were 19th century rooms, early 20th century lounges, a library for guest use, and even a full armour of a knight to watch over your breakfast.Guest review byAnneliFinland
- From US$167.83 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 322 reviewsRoom was tidy and comfortable. We felt like we jumped back in history a little or there was a leak from a cozy laid-back universe. Who knows. The house and rooms just had a special vibe to it... all and all the experience was superb. Now I know where I will always stay in Hämeenlinna.Guest review byMarkoFinland
- From US$170.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,714 reviewsThe room we stayed in had been refurbished, including the wc/shower room. The rooms are rather compact but everything worked for us. Our 2 dogs were welcomed at €10 for the night. We also reserved the sauna, which was very nice. Breakfast was plentiful and well presented.Guest review byStephen T.Finland

Hameenlinna has some excellent museums, including Hame...
Hameenlinna has some excellent museums, including Hame Castle, The Prison, and Sibelius's birthplace (small but important), but always check their opening times; we wanted to visit the Palanderin Talo (a house-museum that would have given us insights into 19th century Finnish life) but it closed at 1600 hours on a Saturday! Aulanko is a pleasant park a few kilometres north of the city. We had our best meal during this trip to Finland at the Piparkakkutalo restaurant, with its lovely ambience, delicious food and charming staff. Note that much of the city centre consists of boring modern buildings, many of which are unused and grafittied.Guest review byRobertUnited Kingdom - 4.0
The facilities were certainly not arranged for Foreigners.
The facilities were certainly not arranged for Foreigners. Arriving to the olace (late evening) there was not any real guiding information, - there are no room numbers (only room names in Finish language), and thus no logic way to find your room :-( Finally, the code to open the room door did not work.Guest review byHarryDenmark - 10.0
Hämeenlinna is a great old town to visit in Finland.
Hämeenlinna is a great old town to visit in Finland. The castle is great, and there are a lot of other smaller museums and places to see. The city has some good restaurants and great hiking trails nearby.Guest review byMarkFinland
