Me and my family stayed here for one night, it’s a quiet place in the small town, close to the windmill. The room inside was super beautiful and clean. The breakfast was excellent, the landlord played Chinese music for us and he was very friendly and caring. My family spend a great night here and they loved it very much. Old winding streets full of character, lots of historical places to see and visit - known as the city of three cultures (Moorish, Christian and Jewish). Toledo is a beautiful city well worth discovering, nestled on the hillside within old city walls with the river Tajo and countryside below. There's an amazing history themed park called Puy de Fou with an amazing night show well worth seeing! And don't forget the archaeological sites, old town, Greco and army Alcazar museums - and that's just to name a few!Guest review bysarahSpain - 8.0

Clearly Talavera de la Reina was of significant importance in the past, but it has been marred by signs of urban decay and high unemployment levels. Still, it is worth a look to appreciate the lessons that history is constantly trying to teach us.Guest review byAnneSpain - 8.0

Incredible place to see the windmills and the castle on the hill and to discover the history. But.... depending on the time of the year and the night of the week you may find no restaurants/cafes/food options open in town. Google maps advised services were open only to arrive and nothing was open. There are 2 supermarkets to pick up supplies so be prepared to cook your own food.Guest review byDeanAustralia - 6.0

Ocaña was a convenient place to stay for an overnight on the road between southern Spain and the Basque Country. The main plaza is large, and the town was pleasant to walk around. We found a good restaurant for an early dinner.Guest review byMiriamFrance - 8.0

Due to our original hotel cancelling our booking we found this little gem. It’s a very jolly place with massive rooms (we had a deluxe double). Yes a bit tired but it has character and we just needed a bed. Which btw was huge and extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this roadhouse/ faux castle/bar/hotel ! It’s directly off the highway, rooms on farthest side are noise free not sure about the road side rooms. We did not eat in the restaurant so can’t comment. We had a beer at night and a coffee in the morning both of which were great.Guest review byAshleyAustralia - 10.0

My daughter has a friend in Toledo which is the reason for my visit. My daughter visits with her friend whilst I explore the city. I love it, it is a great place for both a solo traveller and those travelling with family or friends. Steeped in history, having visited a couple of times now, I know all the places very well and can find my way around easily.Guest review byLouiseUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The windmills were the main attraction and it was great that parking was available for those unable to climb the hills. We also quite enjoyed eating at El Gaudy Restaurant pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, it’s presentation and for a great price!Guest review byMary ElizabethSpain - 8.0

Toledo is beautiful, there are just so much history and so many stunning religious buildings, and small little artisan shops. The landscape is also wonderful, and it is easy to escape the narrow streets and get out to where the river flows at the foot of the city walls. There is also an excellent vegetarian restaurant (Madre Tierra) close to the cathedral - and this is most welcome in a city that has a reputation for meaty dishes such as carcamusas. I had the vegetarian version in lovely Madre Tierra, with good wine and pleasant company. I strongly recommend a visit to the windmills of Consuegra as well. This was the highlight for me. Sunset over the windmills was an experience I'll never forget.Guest review byLizMorrisIreland - 8.0

Consuegra is a good location to visit the windmills and castle above the town and they are very well worth a visit. There is not a great deal of choice of hotels in the town and with the benefit of hindsight I would have visited the windmills and castle in the morning and then had lunch near the Plaza España at restaurant Gaudy which is absolutely terrific. There are very few bars in Consuegra and the only 2 we found did not open until 20.00 hours or later in the evening. While there are a good number of restaurants open for lunch they are mainly closed in the evenings, certainly during the week. To sum up, make it a day visit and stay somewhere else.Guest review byAlexanderUnited Kingdom
