We booked with breakfast, but left too early to have it in the hotel, so the receptionists and the chefs packed our breakfast for us to go! The location is fantastic, and the view from the top of the seashore bluff (with a staircase to the beach) is mesmerising. The bungalows were comfy, equipped with a small fridge and an electric kettle, outside - a small terrace. Bed linen and towels included. Very clean and spacious shared showers and WC with a relaxing music playing inside as well as a kitchen available in a separate building nearby. A friendly staff member. We enjoyed our stay! Rakvere is where my mother went to high school.
Rakvere is where my mother went to high school. Later the rest of her family (mother and sister) moved there to live. I consider it my home town away from my home town. Not only does it have great permanent attractions, like the 800-year-old castle with actors recreating life 500 years ago, but it has great occasional events. Like a punk rock festival every year. One time I was there, I unexpectedly came upon a street organ festival and spent the rest of the afternoon/evening with them. It has great places to eat with a variety of cuisines, from local to Caucasian and Asian (including sushi) and friendly, comfortable places to stay in between the eating, music and medieval life. It's small enough to get around on foot, but there are lots of buses too. You are sure to enjoy it!Guest review byTundernAustralia - 8.0

Käsmu is , quite simply one of the most unspoiled, serene and beautiful villages in the whole world. The views out across the bay are balm to the soul and walks in the primeval forests (nature's cathedral) and the peninsula are wonderful. The little church is charming with an organ, if you can manage to catch a service or concert, that is a musical marvel. Parts of this venerable instrument are over 300 years old! The informative and elegant Sea Museum, once a school for sailors, will tell you the history of the fine ships built here and the brave souls of the "Captain's Village" who sailed the seven seas in the 19th century. The village is still quite remote and careful planning is needed to get there by public transport. Direct buses go from Tallinn or there are buses from the local hub at Rakvere but these are few and far between. I was met by a human despite the fact that I had not given a time of arrival. I had good, clear advice about access and leaving by text and e-mail but it was reassuring to be shown the ropes by a real person. This is especially important for me because my hearing is poor and I can't use a phone for talk. The description of the guest house is honest. The facilities are clean, the house is spacious and the decor is cheerful. Its near a supermarket and a bus stop - good for me because I was using public transport. The taxi fare from Rakvere is 12 EUR if the bus schedule does not suite - affordable ! Very highly recommended!Guest review byHilaryEstonia - 8.0

A pleasant little town in the north of the country. It was a pleasure to walk through the restored streets of the old town. There are plenty of restaurants with good food and a relaxed atmosphere. Not much to see or do. There is a playground about to be opened soon, but a small one already exists next to the school (not for babies, though). There’s just one grocery store and a local pub (don’t recommend). It is a beautiful peaceful town in Estonia. A castle for sightseeing. A peacefull parc for recreation. There is also a spa with a 25m swimming pool.
