It was a real pleasure to stay at Eibsee. We were delighted with the reception. The entire hotel staff is great. The cleanliness of the grade 10, the Spa area and the view are wonderful. We had chosen to stay at Das Graseck as part of our honeymoon and it was perfect! The access via the cable car was great fun; the location was breathtakingly beautiful; there was a variety of spa facilities available all of which were very clean and well maintained; you can walk to Partnach Gorge from the hotel; the 4 course meal each night was absolutely wonderful! We couldn't fault the food in anyway. What made this stay even more wonderful was the staff; the staff and team at Das Graseck were lovely, especially since we spoke very little German so they were kind enough to speak in English where possible. Additionally we want to say thank you for upgrading our room as a honeymoon treat. The room we had was absolutely stunning, and we were very grateful. Lastly, I want to make a special mention to 'Robin' who was one of the restaurant staff and who served us for our first two nights; he was very polite and patient, very caring as to when we wanted our next meal and whether there was anything on the menu we didn't want. Robin really stood out to us on our stay in his excellent customer service, so thank you.

    The hotel is wonderfully decorated with a cozy ambience, particularly suited to our Christmas break. It is exceptionally clean. The staff were always professional,helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We had booked half board and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cuisine. We loved the convenience of the location. A ten minute walk to the town centre filled with lovely shops and restaurants. A five minute walk to the train station where we took the Cogwheel Train to the Zugspitze summit. The beds were incredibly comfortable too.

    We had a wonderful honeymoon at Werdenfelserei from 7 to 16 March. The hotel is really good looking (design) and clean, can't say anything bad about that. The whole staff is really nice and do their job very good and the welcome drink and the bottle of wine on the last night is very appreciated (despite my wife is pregnant, she'll drink it in a few weeks) We loved the spa and swimming pool and the area (park and close to the city center) is perfect. The breakfast is one of the best we've ever had.

    Very clean, beautifully presented and well maintained. The staff were all fantastic and did their very best to accommodate my poor German vocabulary! The room was cleaned daily, mini bar restocked and towels changed as and when required. The pool was lovely but unfortunately the sauna was off when I went to try it. Location was off the Main Street but not by much, a 10 min walk from the train/bus station.

    I thought the White Night Party was an abomination.

    I thought the White Night Party was an abomination. I had visited for the Richard Strauss festival whose last night was bizarrely paired with the noisiest and town dominating party I ever experienced. This meant the concert hall was entirely beseiged by very noisy bands and revellers dressed in white. Utterly bizarre. Had I known I would not have visited.

    Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests.

    Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. The historical city centre has a number of sights and a good choice of restaurants - for many the real beauty begins once you leave the city. From taking cable cars, walking along the river or through the forest to climbing peaks up to around 2,500 m, the natural surroundings are stunning. The city does a good job at offering public buses that take tourists to the most important sights and trailheads, giving us the chance to leave the car at home and help preserve the gem that Mittenwald is!

    Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

    Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the...

    Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return. The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

    There is not much happening in Klais, other than a few walks...

    There is not much happening in Klais, other than a few walks or cross country skiing in winter. Now in autumn it is a lovely, quiet base for all sorts of excursions in the vicinity. Mittenwald and Garmisch Partenkirchen are only a few km away.

    Krun was a beautiful, quiet little town.

    Krun was a beautiful, quiet little town. There were shops, restaurants and several supermarkets. Although the main supermarket in town is very popular so can get extremely busy. It was also easy to hire bikes in town, to enjoy the many different trails. The cows (with their bells) going to their milking sheds at 5.30 pm, was always a nice treat.

    Garmisch is pure magic. We absolutely loved the fresh mountain air — it instantly lifts your spirits and clears your mind. The towering Alps surrounding the town are breathtaking, offering postcard-perfect views from every angle. Whether you're hiking, strolling through the charming streets, or just relaxing at a café, the atmosphere is peaceful and invigorating all at once. The blend of nature, fresh air, and traditional Bavarian charm makes it the perfect escape. Even just a few days here felt like a reset. Friendly locals, cozy spots to eat, and endless outdoor activities make it a destination we’d return to in a heartbeat. Garmisch has a special kind of energy; calm, welcoming, and wonderfully refreshing.

    The staff at the hotel were great.

    The staff at the hotel were great. Special thanks to Agga and the Moroccan chef in the restaurant. They both made things easier for our family with allergies. The hotel does need to identify food where there are possible contamination issues like identifying Milk or Gluten in our case. There was no signage to indicate, we were left to ask and trust both the above. Restaurant and reception staff were good. The area is beautiful and unfortunate for us that it rained everyday. I would personally recommend this area as a winter resort. But there were plenty of hikers and bike riders around. many places to visit for the scenery too.
