The open-air bathroom is enchanting, offering the unforgettable experience of showering under the stars and among coconut trees. Breakfast was generous, with fresh tropical fruits and local specialties. There were plenty of free activities (yoga, volleyball, meditation, bingo, etc.) and paid ones (massages, snorkeling, water sports, and excursions). We joined the ecological walk around the island, which was very interesting, and experienced the unforgettable night swim with bioluminescent plankton in Tintipán. The hotel is set within a natural park with parrots, turtles, peacocks, a little monkey, and iguanas. The restaurant and bar are excellent. Loved how you could walk one side of the island from our accommodation. Plenty of activities on option if you choose. We ate at the hotel as good menu and convenient. You can’t beat the price & the beach is beautiful. The people were great & friendly. However I would bring mosquito spray & ear plugs bc if you get the room next to a generator it will drive you crazy. The best room is with the balcony so you could enjoy the sound of the waves & beautiful view, it’s definitely worth the extra money. Food & drinks were good. This place is paradise!!! The resort has been developed in a very natural way, we felt we had plenty of privacy and space around us. The food could be improved a little but overall the experience was great. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable! Isla Mucura is the perfect place to relax! The staff, location and room were excellent. Staff went out of the way to help and guide. We booked a car through the hotel for pickup and drop off to Cartagena and the car service (Carlos the driver was awesome and very helpful and punctual). We had a medical emergency and the staff were super helpful to guide and help arrange transportation to the nearest city. Highly recommend. Water pressure at the hotel at times can be an issue (beyond the control of the property), which is to be expected. Keep in mind that not all hotels have beaches, even though they do have access to the sea. Also remember that walking from one place of the island to another is not possible due to the mangrove, so most of the time you will need to take a boat, which usually is provided by the hotel at a cost. This is a place to relax under the sun, swim in the sea, eat delicious food, and do some low intensity activities like paddle board or snorkeling. Sunsets are amazing. The sea is BLUE blue, and the reef is a swim away to explore. Very small island, to explore through day and night nature activities. Bring nug spray and bug bite gel. Baru is not a lonely remote place where you will enjoy peace and quiet. Hotels and lodges are literally next to each other. There are many people. When swimming, be careful of boats and jet skis that drive here and there very close to the shore. But the sun and the sea make all that unimportant. The hotel is beautiful but it is a little pricey for what they offer. The food at the buffet was delicious but it was too limited. They don’t offer that much variety in the food.
