Don't be fooled by lack of snow at the lower elevations as upper typically have snow -- check the webcams for real time views and plan accordingly. Photos are from the days we were there so had lots of snow at upper elevations. Extra elements of ski storage with boot driers and ski lockers very handy as is the sauna. Access to parking and the train station at Le Chable is walkable. Walking in ski boots is possible however if you can find a place at Le Chable lift for storage of walking shoes via the rentals, that is much better. If you drove, check if you can park all day for no cost at Le Chable and drive the short distance and get ready in the car to help at the end of the day. Staff were very thoughtful and accommodating to our needs and the breakfast in the morning is very good. Evening access to Verbier is via La Chable lift and already in your pass until 23:30 usually so getting into Verbier at night for dinner or Apres at Farinet is easy :) When we return we'll stay here again!Guest review byChrisCanada

Le Chable is a pretty village, it has a supermarket, ski shop Happy Sport, where one can rent good skis at cheaper prices than at Verbier, some restaurants, etc. The house is well equipped, pretty, has a separate bedroom with a big closet to store cloths and the bathroom is new and spacious. The only thing missing is a dish washer which we didn't mind much as we were only two people, the house anyway sleeps only two people. I believe it would perfectly fit three if the couch were a sofa bed. All in all we loved it and we absolutely recommend it to everyone visiting Verbier. Location is spectacular, if you're hiking you can see the hotel imbedded in the hills from a long distance away. Views from the hotel are also incredible. The owners granddad built the hotel and she is maintaining family business which is something we would always support. Their welcome and attendance to all our needs was very personal and without hesitation. We also stayed for dinner and we were not disappointed, great food and great service. Hotel rooms are very charming full of character but most importantly we had an amazing sleep. Silvie, the hotel owner, and other staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The common area is warm, cozy, with 24/7 self service tea and snacks and confortable couches to read and relax next to the fireplace. It also had two sauna rooms that we loved, especially after a long day skiing. The location of the hotel was great, only 5 min walk from the slopes. The rooms are small but enchanting, with everything you need. And the breakfast was top notch! Strongly recommend this hotel for anyone coming up to Verbier to ski or do other sports on the mountain. Verbier is a beautiful chic resort. You can find everything you need there. The local people are super friendly and kind. It is a little on the expensive side however. We knew the place and various activities are offered: biking, walking, fishing, paddling, swimming, ... . There is a lovely alpine garden and we can visit an underground military fortification. Hiking to well-know refuges is possible (Orny, Trient). Don't miss Zaric's sculpture. There is a small one in the alpine garden. Panorama from Belvedere (easy walk) or Splendid hotel is beautiful. Apparently, there is a SPA in the new trendy / design hotel next to the lake. I believe non-resident can hire by hour (to be checked). Champex is not far to Gorges Durnand.Guest review byPhil. Champex Lac is a charming village that offers a wide range of outdoor activities, like skiing, hiking, kayaking on the lake, swimming, tennis. It is very suitable for family holidays in winter and summer. The environment is very beautiful. Impressives mountains, woods and small villages. We took the train from Geneva airport, it's a lovely journey around Lake Geneva. Its very easy and relaxing with a change on to a local train to take you up the valley. We stayed there for 4 nights and skied each day. It's not a typical ski resort. It has all you might need, supermarket, pharmacy, boulangerie etc and a few bars and restaurants (no real late night stuff). We had some great food and bars were full of locals and a few skiers. Getting up to Verbier is simple with a lift that runs 05.15-23.45 and takes about 10 minutes. The Le Chable lift gives direct access to the higher stations in Verbier without having to queue again in Verbier. There is immediate access to the Bruson area which provides a good range of skiing for an afternoon away from Verbier. The Verbier Four Valleys resort is severely limited by access across the system It can take two hours to cross the system to enter a range of drag lifts. The Yellow routes are a major issue. They are reasonably moderate black runs, but as they are off-piste my insurance does not cover them. For this reason alone I will not return to Verbier.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom
