There is a hiking path to the lake of Murten just underneath the hotel. 20 minutes drive to Papiliorama, if you want to be there early. The best is to be at Papiliorama as soon as it opens in the morning. The breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

CroatiaAlthough Neuchatel didn't meet my expectations, the location was perfect, near to everything. I also liked the breakfast, although they could add a little bit of variety. Staff was helpful, especially the cleaning ladies, they were really great. We had a small attic room with two beds. The room and the bathroom were spacious and we were pleasantly surprised when we saw a portable air conditioning in our room. Namely, it was really hot, over 35 degrees, day and night, and in Switzerland, most of the places, to our surprise, don't have ACs. We only found it in supermarkets. So, these small AC saved our lives! Ah, I almost forgot, there's a Nespresso machine and a variety of coffees and tea in the box, which was a nice touch.

I stayed there a couple of nights for some extra holiday to ride my MTB after a business trip in Switzerland.
The room was very spacious well equipped incl. desk, fridge, large double bed, fan and balcony. On the balcony there was a small table and two chairs, excellent to enjoy the sunset. The bed and pillows are very comfortable, I slept extremely well.
The bathroom was not very large, but very clean and all amenities on could need is there. Good bonus is that there was a shower cap, shoe polish, basic sewing kit and shower and shampoo present.
The hotel is very well located to go anywhere in the neighbourhood. Plenty of parking space for residents and restaurant visits. Very convenient that there is a restaurant nearby, lovely meat and pizza.
Last but not least, their staff is very friendly and helpful. Big bonus for this.
I had my bike with me and the hotel/camping has a dedicated bike storage room where they can be safely stored. They have good bike placing stands to put your frond wheel in without damaging the wheel nor any other bike. Again big bonus!
The only reason I did not give a 10 star rating is that I might be missing an airco. The room had plenty of sun coming in and it can be warm in the room. However at night, the temperature dropped enough and with blowing some cold air in the room, I had no problem sleeping at night as the room was cooled down.

This hotel is impressive for its heritage: first documented as a hotel in the 14C. But despite some intentional remnants in the building, the rooms have been modernized by a designer with excellent style and taste. No indication that the room was any older than a few years! We had a room with a small kitchen and courtyard view, but it was spacious and very quiet - couldn't even hear any noise from the restaurant right below. Murten is a charming medieval town that is worth stopping in for a night when the tourists are gone and the atmosphere is special.

People (personal), location, and breakfast was really nice. Small room for 1 which was enough, just separated bathroom on the next door in the corridor. The corner room had no internet which was the main minus especially if you need to work.. By 15 min walk you can find a nice 100 year old cave to go inside the past. :)

It is a good place to stay, from which to do side trips by...
It is a good place to stay, from which to do side trips by train or bus. It would be a bit cheaper than staying in a bigger city. It is not flooded with tourists, compared with Interlaken , for example. It is a pleasant town to walk around, not too large, with a view of the Alps, on a clear day.

It's a very attractive little lakeside town with a medieval centre, including intact and walkable fortification wall, and lots of nice places to eat. It is well-connected transport-wise for visits to nearby attractions like the roman ruins in Avenches or the (really well-worth visiting) 12th century abbey in Payerne. Lake boats ply daily (in summer) to Neuchatel.

Fantastic style and spacious rooms with an extremely comfortable bed. Due to the proximity to the highway, quick and easy to find. Strongly recommended, especially for people on a longer trip seeking a great stopover. The restaurant is closed on the weekend I was told when I arrived, but there are alternatives nearby.

Neuchatel offers a tourist pass with free entry to many...
Neuchatel offers a tourist pass with free entry to many attractions in the canton and free public transport. Note that many places are closed on Sundays and/or Mondays.
We made the most of the sunshine by taking a train to Buttes and walking in the mountains above the chairlift (included in the tourist pass), with fabulous views over the lake, the Jura and the distant Alps. We also enjoyed a morning boat trip and a peaceful walk through protected marshland at St Blaise.
We loved the food in Himalaya Momo.

Lovely town on the side of the lake with good shops,...
Lovely town on the side of the lake with good shops, restaurants and some historical sights. Beware it is very hilly away from lakeside but public transport is very good. Good location from which to explore the area by road or rail (but rail is expensive). Cities such as Bern and Lausanne are just under an hour away.
