From the pristine lobby to the well-kept gardens, it was clear that they take great pride in ensuring a top-notch guest experience. Our suite was nothing short of luxurious. The elegant design, coupled with the cozy fireplace, created a delightful ambiance that made us feel like we were indulging in a five-star retreat. The large balcony provided a picturesque view of the tranquil river, making it a perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee or unwind in the evenings. The pool area was a definite highlight of our stay. With its sparkling clean waters and comfortable loungers, it quickly became our go-to spot for relaxation. The poolside service was impeccable, ensuring we had everything we needed for a perfect day under the sun. Overall, this hotel was the crown jewel of our Canada trip this year.     Victoria is always a nice place to visit… lots to see and do. The harbour with the Legislature Building, Empress Hotel, Butchart Gardens, Beach Drive, The ferry boat over to the mainland etc. I could go on and on. Victoria is beautiful.

    This wasn't our first trip to Nanaimo so we did know our way...

    This wasn't our first trip to Nanaimo so we did know our way around most of the city and beyond, but it is always a great place to be. We love the well planned Harbour walkways, many events in the parks, the beach trails. Our favourite beach walks are Piper's Lagoon and Neck Point. There are many good music venues, restaurants, scenic drives and walks. We easily found side roads that were basically parallel to the highway to get to and from downtown. Nanaimo has has a LOT to offer any visitor of any age! Can't wait to return!

    I first visited Tofino 40 years ago.

    I first visited Tofino 40 years ago. It is now more like a tourist spot and less like a fishing village. The natural beauty has not changed. The people are still very friendly. If you like biking you should plan for that. There is a 40 km bike path mostly through the forest, and mostly flat.

    Ucluelet is a beautiful town on the Pacific Ocean on Vancouver Island. There are beaches close by (the water is pretty cold, though) and many places to hike. We found that Ucluelet is much less touristy than Tofino. So if you like the touristy stuff, Tofino may be a better place for you. The whole area is surrounded by natural beauty.

    Farmer’s market was a lot of fun and we went to Strathcona state park but elk falls is very close to town. Great food options! Milo’s sushi does spectacular and inclusive breakfasts! Fogg ducker coffee spot was stunning.

    We were there for the last 3 days of the beach festival.

    We were there for the last 3 days of the beach festival. The sand sculptures, illuminated at night, were amazing (in the true meaning of the word) in their artistry and creativity. The beaches, parks and old growth trees were a delight to see. There are several excellent and unique restaurants. This town is perfect for a romantic couple's break or for a family with children. A suggestion for the City Council: Provide a small, free, illustrated map of the city with various attractions and the unique places to eat, visit and play.0 Tony Keble.

    Port Alberni is a small charmless place to visit.

    Port Alberni is a small charmless place to visit. We visited in older to take the boat trip that goes down the inlet down to Bamfield and back. That was a very enjoyable trip except for the high price of food on board the boat.

    Port Hardy is central to many hiking trails and booking boat trips. Lots of good restaurants. I just wish that it would be possible to book half days fishing trips (only full days were available which is not ideal if you are afraid of the sea or this is your first boat trip).

    Stopped here one night before flying from Comox airport. Seemed a nice local town and residential area with small independent shops. We didn’t have time to visit any nearby attractions or eat at local restaurants.

    The farmers market on Saturday was fantastic - I got the best scones I've ever had from one of the vendors. it would have been nice to have a little more time to explore the town and the beach but we were there for a wedding so had limited "tourist" hours
