I was thoroughly delighted with the Lakeview Motel. It was close to the center of Haliburton Village. All rooms had parking in front of the doors. The staff was very helpful, wanting to make my stay an exceptional experience. The room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. The HD TV featured an extensive channel selection with both Canadian and US news, weather & entertainment choices. Every small detail had been thought of and put in place; there were boxes of tissues on both sides of the bed; the coffeemaker had extra coffee bags, allowing extra cups to be made; ever toiletry possibly needed was provided---it was as if the management had said, "What is everything we can do to make this a memorable experience for our guests." Also they featured a great breakfast menu which could be ordered the night before. An added feature was a large, heated pool. I highly recommend the Lakeview Motel!
Has it's own small lake with free canoes and kayak. Barbeque and tables right outside the rooms and the lake.
Just a few minutes drive from the west entrance to Algonquin provincial park. Provide park permits at good rates.
Owners are extremely friendly and helpful. Regularly asked if we needed anything or if they can help us in any way with the room.
Exactly as in photos.
Very clean.
It is a motel so expect a motel, but it has everything you need. BBQ outside, small playground and nice coffee in the rooms.
Family ate very nice. Right on the entry to the park. If staying there be sure to go to Erikas bakery for breakfast or a cake!
Molly and Wendy couldn't be more helpful or accommodating than they were. The resort is very relaxed, with full access to all of the water sports equipment, beach, and fire pit. We had a great time during our three night stay.
The hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and know the area very well.Did visit the eagles nest and the view was quite beautiful. There is also some fun driving on the side roads.
Stunning location, beautiful scenery, fresh cooked food and amenities were great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was lovely with a great view of the lake.

Is a great starting point to hit some nice scenery and good roads for motorcycle riding. The Wilno Tavern just east of the town is fantastic for Polish food along with great Polish history (as the first Polish settlement). Lots of great small spots to stop and enjoy such as Bent Anchor Resto-bar in Cobermere.

I go to Dwight to "recharge my batteries".
I go to Dwight to "recharge my batteries". It's quiet - it's close to Algonquin Park but also close to Huntsville if you feel the need to be around people. I enjoy travelling during the shoulder season. There is a small grocery/butcher/drug store within an easy walk. I was amazed at the variety they had in such a small space and very helpful if you have any questions. If you feel the need to stay "connected" there is strong wifi available.

The local brew pub was great - excellent food and fantastic beers, very good service. Bancroft is known as a mineral capital with a small but excellent mineral museum. There is also an interesting historical museum and an active cultural community. Many artists live in the area and offer wonderful paintings and other creations at local stores. There are some lovely cafes offering great baked goods and tasty light lunches. There are nature trails, great camping and fishing, and off trail vehicles to rent as well as canoes, other boats and catamarans.
There are a number of parks for children including a skateboard park. The August long weekend [ first weekend of the month] offers Bancroft's Rockhound Gemboree, a world reknowed gem and mineral show with great specimens for sale. There are also some excellent tourist shops offering gifts and items for the whole family at reasonable prices. Don't forget to drive down the side streets to find interesting shops and restaurants. Alice's Pantry offers bulk food products, and specialty, ethic and local options and home cooked meals. We took advantage of the daily evening special to save on restaurant costs.

Unless you are really into nature this place isn't for you.
Unless you are really into nature this place isn't for you. You are surrounded by trails and trees taller than I'd ever seen. You must pay attention to the roads because they are very hilly and windy. There's barely any streetlights so if you're driving in the dark it's really dark! We went to Algonquin park and a few museums in the area. Gleb park has a fantastic sculpture forest! There's Kate's burger corner that's a great place for take out too!

Splendid location near to Haliburton.
Splendid location near to Haliburton. This very special cottage is in a superb setting. My family and I had a wonderful stay. We visited from England so we really appreciated how well-equipped and homely it was. Even had a canoe and kayak to use. Life jackets not provided but we found these easily at the shopping mall in Haliburton - unisex adult for about $48 each which we felt gave really good value for hours of kayaking. Great deck, pontoon, outdoor furniture, fire pit, stylish and thoughtful touches everywhere. Host provided lots of information about the local amenities. Wish we could have stayed longer. Made memories that will stay with our family a lifetime.

Excellent location to break up a road trip.
Excellent location to break up a road trip. Adjacent to the lake edge. Good food in the restaurant…. Disappointed at the laid back approach of reception staff who prioritised a phone call whilst we stood waiting to be checked in…

This was our first time experience for camping and what we expected. It has good facilities like washroom, outhouse, washing stations, bed linen and electric outlets. This help us to manage our kids and keep them safe from bugs. Cabins give good sleep and protect kids from bugs and wild animals. This was memorable camping experience. Now kids wants to go camping every year. If I could have book more cabins then two more families could join us.

Killaloe is the region name, the Schoolhouse Inn is located in Round Lake Centre and only a ten minute drive from Killaloe village and golf at the Homestead at Wolf Ridge, and twenty minutes from Wilno and Golden Lake. The Wilno Tavern is excellent for Polish food and live music.

The room was a decent size with a very comfy bed. Decor was nice, bathroom fine. The thing that let it down was the windows were broken and filthy and the aircon blew back into the room rendering it useless.
