the property was amazing, very nice place and the staff were really nice and helpful, she let us leave our bags in the office after the check out so we could take a late water taxi to Belize city and enjoy an extra day of sun. From the moment I arrived Christine made me feel so welcome. She had a list of things to do, where to eat and party. I just loved all the personal touches with flowers on the bed, wrapped in the towels and in a vase. Everything has old world charm and my room was upstairs with a view of the Caribbean Sea and a lovely breeze drifting through the louvre windows. The position of the hotel is perfect to walk to night clubs, restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and the retail shopping strip. Yet is very quiet & comfortable. This hotel cares about the environment and it shows from very clear instructions with the linen to a water refill station at reception. All the staff are super friendly and everyone will go out of their way to make your stay so fabulous you will never want to leave! I wish to highly recommend the Hotel del Rio. 10 out of 10!

We had a great stay at Mangata Villas! The hosts were great at communicating and even organised a golf cart for us to pick up off the ferry. The pool and beach were fab and it was great we could cook our own meals in the kitchenette a few nights too!

Caye Caulker is an amazing place to experience the 'Go Slow'...

Caye Caulker is an amazing place to experience the 'Go Slow' way of life! We enjoyed 4 nights there with our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 teen boys), went spearfishing, swam with nurse sharks and sting rays, fed tarpon, waded with sting rays, hung out at The Split, and enjoyed amazing Belizean food all over the island. You can sleep in and go to bed early, and still not miss a thing. :)

Amazing little island of Belize.

Amazing little island of Belize. The water is amazing with its colors and such a diverse amount of sea life. The flat fishing is amazing!! Highly recommend Blue Bonefish Outfitters for any fishing there. Very skilled and knowledgeable. Many excellent food options from simple to fancy. Very friendly people throughout.

Nice little island near Belize City, with many hotels and resorts, many good restaurants serving fresh seafood, especially Conch.and fish... I took a tour for US$50, snorkeling and swimming with the sharks!!! My new resort has a pool and a private beach. I plan to take a private taxi and tour the whole island... very windy in the afternoons.

What I liked most was its secret island, the only place where you can go to the beach in all of Belize. What I liked least was the people, they are not very friendly, they are rather unpleasant and not very communicative when it comes to helping travelers.

if you are diver is the perfect place to visit, that was my goal, I dove with Scuba sensations ,excellent ,massages half a block from sea dreams, Ix Chel DAY spa, clean professional, good price. Maggie's sunset KITCKEN one block from sea dreams local place the food was delicious , i ,had fish ,good prices. I want to try conch the staff recommend Paradiso cafe ,real good. I went to the other side of town to a restaurant may be call Erika it was pack I asked for octopus very disappointed it, totally chewy and expensive, they tried to cook it more not luck.

Ya GOTTA LOVE the tropical weather, you can't beat the longest barrier reef in the Northern Hemisphere, and that's the best diving I've experienced in several decades. This was my first visit to Ambergris Caye, & San Pedro - what was initially surprising to me very quickly became one of my favorite things about the location. Many oceanview beachfront houses are not resorts, isolated from local residents. You are right in the mix with neighbors: locals going about their daily business (non-tourist and tourist alike), schoolkids walking by, deliveries, construction happening, etc. I enjoy living like a local (sorta), although some folks might not. San Pedro beaches skew commercial/industrial: numerous docks; dock-restaurants; beach cafe; van, taxi and golf-cart traffic on the beach; sand parking lots; powerlines; & sargasso weed extending out up to 50 yds out from shore - it takes a moment to get used to, this ain't Zona Hotel in Cancun. Many hotels & resorts loom over off-beach buildings behind it, which mostly are the typical tropical unfinished, mildewy concrete buildings with rusty rebar poking out, lots of laundry lines, and rusted car parts and tools in the yard. I found this familiar and charming but some may not.
