Lovely location on the river and a pleasant walking distance to the middle of town. We got a lovely room in the silo part. Comfortable, clean, with lovely little touches like local products. Staff were all helpful and friendly. Archie the Silo dog was such a treat to have around and the best boy! We would recommend this to all our friends visiting Launceston.

Loved the four poster bed, which was very comfortable. Bedroom was tastefully decorated in heritage pictures, curtains, tassles, colours, etc. Great variety of items available for the self-serve breakfast. Smart TV in our room and breakfast room had Netflix, free to air TV, YouTube, etc. Sheridan linen and a variety of pillows to choose from. Towels were thick and soft. Ensuite was kept in period too with clawfoot bath, wooden seat and lid on toilet. A totally delightful place to stay!

Beautiful building with a carpark (at a small fee). Location is very central and is right across the Harvest Market on Saturdays and also right beside the City Park. There are lifts at the hotel and walk-in shower, which is good for elderly and those with limited mobility. The dinner at hotel restaurant is excellent!

A delightful place which combined the the charm of a late Victorian cottage with modern amenities. Ideally placed within walking distance of the centre of Launceston. The owners have successfully retained original features of the cottage so that it combined authenticity with comfort.

Grindelwald is in a quiet elevated position in Legana on the Tamar River. As such provides a peaceful relaxing get away with the convenience of a 15 minute trip to Launceston City Centre, and easy access to anywhere along the West Tamar, and via the Batman Bridge also the East. We have stayed on two occasions and both have been good experiences. Wi-fi coverage was a little patchy at times, with mobiles occasionally unable to connect to the internet, or downloading information quite slowly. Other than that, a highly recommended stop for those seeking peace and quiet and a chance to recharge the batteries. It has a small shopping centre, a golf course, and a splash golf range for kids to enjoy, and from signs of construction work, it appears more facilities will soon be added. Highly recommended for anyone wishing to get away from it all.

Beauty point was a peaceful, secluded little town with plenty of water in which to swim or on which to paddle. The platypus world and seahorse world and creation display were excellent activities which the kids really enjoyed as well as the adults. Without a boat, it’s not a place I could stay for two weeks, but it was certainly a lovely relaxing place to be for a few days.

The tranquil setting on the Tamar River is picturesque and relaxing. Great for walks. The township had all the shops and facilities a visitor needs to make their stay comfortable . The area is rich in history. A visit to Low Head Pilot Station is very interesting and the cafe next to it on the water is highly recommended. It is full of playgrounds & picnic areas.

Excellent breakfast selection, very thoughtful touches to room, very warm and comfortable, I also liked the "share-house" vibe while retaining privacy. But unpleasant experience with host: my flight was cancelled so I couldn't be there for the first night, then work rescheduled so I didn't stay for the third night. The host was concerned that she would lose income from the booking, complaining that she paid her mortgage from income from hosting, UNTIL she realised that I had already paid and then she quickly switched to refusing my query about a refund, that she couldn't because I hadn't given 48 hours notice (which was impossible in the circumstances). Booking.com was also very unhelpful - other sites do a better job with this.
