- From £324.02 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 551 reviewsWe had chosen to stay at Das Graseck as part of our honeymoon and it was perfect! The access via the cable car was great fun; the location was breathtakingly beautiful; there was a variety of spa facilities available all of which were very clean and well maintained; you can walk to Partnach Gorge from the hotel; the 4 course meal each night was absolutely wonderful! We couldn't fault the food in anyway. What made this stay even more wonderful was the staff; the staff and team at Das Graseck were lovely, especially since we spoke very little German so they were kind enough to speak in English where possible. Additionally we want to say thank you for upgrading our room as a honeymoon treat. The room we had was absolutely stunning, and we were very grateful. Lastly, I want to make a special mention to 'Robin' who was one of the restaurant staff and who served us for our first two nights; he was very polite and patient, very caring as to when we wanted our next meal and whether there was anything on the menu we didn't want. Robin really stood out to us on our stay in his excellent customer service, so thank you.Guest review byMeganUnited Kingdom

It is exceptionally clean. The staff were always professional, helpful and friendly. The food was delicious. We had booked half board and were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the cuisine. We loved the convenience of the location. A ten minute walk to the town centre filled with lovely shops and restaurants. A five minute walk to the train station where we took the Cogwheel Train to the Zugspitze summit. The beds were incredibly comfortable too.Guest review byBelindaUnited Kingdom
- From £343.95 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 650 reviewsWe had a wonderful honeymoon at Werdenfelserei from 7 to 16 March. The hotel is really good looking (design) and clean, can't say anything bad about that. The whole staff is really nice and do their job very good and the welcome drink and the bottle of wine on the last night is very appreciated (despite my wife is pregnant, she'll drink it in a few weeks) We loved the spa and swimming pool and the area (park and close to the city center) is perfect. The breakfast is one of the best we've ever had.Guest review byRobNetherlands
- From £145.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,214 reviewsVery clean, beautifully presented and well maintained. The staff were all fantastic and did their very best to accommodate my poor German vocabulary! The room was cleaned daily, mini bar restocked and towels changed as and when required. The pool was lovely but unfortunately the sauna was off when I went to try it. Location was off the Main Street but not by much, a 10 min walk from the train/bus station.Guest review byGareth PhillipsUnited Kingdom

I thought the White Night Party was an abomination.
I thought the White Night Party was an abomination. I had visited for the Richard Strauss festival whose last night was bizarrely paired with the noisiest and town dominating party I ever experienced. This meant the concert hall was entirely beseiged by very noisy bands and revellers dressed in white. Utterly bizarre. Had I known I would not have visited.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A picturesque little village with a train station to the Zugspitze, outdoor and indoor swimming and saunas, beautiful mini-golf, lots of hiking trails, and good connections, e.g., Garmisch to Partenkirchen and the Austrian side. It is only under a 1,5 h drive from Munich.Guest review byTiinaFinland - 10.0

The DE-ticket works between Ehrwald and Garmish, despite that Ehrwald is in Austria, so one can travel freely there. The Zugspitze, Sonnenspitze and other locations are reachable by train/bus/cable car from Ehrwald. The Seebensee is fantastic lake, one can get there by a bus+cable car and using and normal road or a bus and a rather difficult via ferrata. Also there is an indoor climbing (about 15m high) gym with 4 automatic belaying stations in Ehrwald, so one can climb even during bad weather conditions.Guest review byPavelGermany - 6.0
From a skiing perspective, it's not the most exciting area.
From a skiing perspective, it's not the most exciting area. Although it's really easy to reach (we drove in 7,5 hours from the middle of the Netherlands), the town is a bit lower and therefore snow conditions are not perfect in the valley. Mountain snow conditions were a lot better. I can imagine in Summer it's amazing to hike, for skiing it would not be my area of choice, although I can imagine with young kids it's lovely.Guest review byAnnefloorNetherlands - 10.0
Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests.
Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. The historical city centre has a number of sights and a good choice of restaurants - for many the real beauty begins once you leave the city. From taking cable cars, walking along the river or through the forest to climbing peaks up to around 2,500 m, the natural surroundings are stunning. The city does a good job at offering public buses that take tourists to the most important sights and trailheads, giving us the chance to leave the car at home and help preserve the gem that Mittenwald is!Guest review bySebastianGermany - 10.0

Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.Guest review byArthurNetherlands - 8.0

Biberwier is a beautiful, pastoral village nestled in the Austrian Alps, offering a serene and picturesque environment for visitors. The village is perfectly situated, providing easy access to a variety of nearby attractions, including skiing and hiking trails, scenic lakes, and cultural landmarks. It's an excellent base for exploring the Tyrolean region, with its charming local atmosphere and close proximity to popular destinations like the Zugspitz Arena, the Marienberg ski area, and the breathtaking Fernpass region. For those looking for a peaceful retreat with plenty of outdoor activities, Biberwier is an ideal choice. However, it is important to research your accommodation options carefully to ensure a pleasant stay.Guest review byItamarIsrael - 10.0

Farchant is a great stay if you want to be out of the busyness of Garmisch-Partenkirchen but not too far away to be a moment away. Great local food and welcoming people, have been coming here for years and plan to return. The atlas hotel has a great restaurant with lots of choice and it’s easy to get to with the train station from Munich or Garmisch-Partenkirchen.Guest review byChristopherUnited Kingdom
