FAQs about hotels in Tyrol
A Ski Heaven In the Heart of Alps
One of the top European ski destinations, the Austrian Tyrol is divided into 2 parts: a larger North Tyrol with the region’s capital Innsbruck, and a smaller East Tyrol. Its pristine beauty and a variety of activities make it a haven for outdoor lovers.
Whether you’re into skiing, hiking or mountaineering, the Tyrol provides both great facilities and conditions so you can enjoy your favourite activity to your heart’s content. Its most famous ski resort, Ischgl, is part of the world’s largest ski area and offers 238 km of well-prepared pistes, vibrant nightlife and annual concerts from pop stars.
For something more low-profile, visit the resorts of St Anton or Kitzbuhel, both equally popular, with a lot of ski lifts, slopes ranging from easy to difficult, and cable cars. In summer, make use of the mountain bike paths and great hiking trails.
Innsbruck is the Tyrol’s only city and as well as being a wintersports centre capable of hosting the Winter Olympics twice, it’s also a cultural and educational city, with a world-renowned university and a variety of events. You can admire the stunning mountain views from the cosy cafés and bars of which Innsbruck has plenty.
So whether you’re looking for a stylish chalet, a fully-equipped apartment or luxury Tyrol hotels, Booking.com has over 4100 different properties on offer to make your stay perfect!

Unexpected great discovery.
Unexpected great discovery. Visited in August and had an amazing experience, walking around the city and exploring nature around. Came by car from Luxembourg, roads were great, and not extremely busy. There are many hiking and biking trails with different degrees of difficulty just around the city, if traveling with small children, elder people or just don’t feel like walking up to the mountains, take the Nordkettenbahnen cable car from the city centre (c. 50 euros to the top), totally worth it. For some cultural activity, I recommend trying the Ambras castle. Just walking around the city and interacting with people was a great experience.Guest review byInmaSpain - 10.0

Have been is Seefeld 3 times until now, twice in winter and once is summer. Excellent place for vacation or short stay. Hotels and facilities are modern, mainly built in 1960's for Innsbruck Olympics. Seefeld has cross-country skiing and big warm open pool if compare to other surrounding resorts. Easy transportation to Innsbruck and Munich.Guest review byDmitriyKazakhstan - 10.0

The perfect Zillertal base — charming, active, and full of alpine character. Mayrhofen is a gem in the heart of the Zillertal Alps — both lively and surrounded by breathtaking scenery. My favorite spot in town was the central square with the iconic ibex statue and the beautiful alpine church, perfect for soaking in the mountain vibe. I enjoyed traditional Tyrolean meals at local guesthouses, and the hut-style restaurants in the surrounding mountains are worth the hike. Breakfast at my hotel was exceptional, and the Zillertal beer is a must-try after a long day outdoors. Getting around is easy — everything in town is walkable, and the Zillertalbahn train makes exploring the valley simple. For solo travelers like me, Mayrhofen is ideal: scenic hiking trails start right from town, there’s an excellent pool & spa complex (Erlebnisbad), and plenty of cafés and beer gardens to meet people or just relax. Whether you’re here for a few days or as a base for adventures like the Berliner Höhenweg, Mayrhofen delivers both comfort and authentic alpine atmosphere.Guest review byGeorg.AlAlbania - 6.0
Kitzbuhel is primarily a winter sports resort but also...
Kitzbuhel is primarily a winter sports resort but also attracts summer visitors. An evening band performance and afternoon childrens events in the Kurpark were welcome surprises as we had no prior knowledge they were taking place. The local (free) Tourist Card gives small price reductions on cable cars and some other attractions but, in stark contrast to neighbouring Salzburg Province, lacks rail and/or bus travel benefits. Kitzbuhel has two railway stations. We did not find a street map showing how to get to hotels at either, The rail station by the cable car is unstaffed. UK tourists were seen using the ticket machine to buy outward and return tickets, unaware that a group ticket (Einfach Raus) would have cost less. Kitzbuhel was one of 5 stops on a longer trip. It was not our favourite.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great location for summer vacation, there is a lot going on with local summer fests. Great for hiking, the mountains are beautiful. You can easily get to Italy or Switzerland where there are further options for hiking. The area around Lago di Resia in Italy is also beautiful.Guest review byTomasCzech Republic - 10.0

Not sure Lienz is on traveller's radar. It's a must when travelling to Austria. Easy to get to by train from Germany and from within Austria. A small town easily navigated on foot. It's stunning. It was a shame the gondola was not operating though.Guest review byHelenAustralia - 10.0
nice town.
nice town. Ideal base for early season hike (start of May) in Wilder Kaiser region. Most other places in vicinity are closed as main hiking season hasn't started yet. The local kaiserlift (chair lift) was open so takes you to start of good hikes..Guest review bymichaelIreland
