Absolutely fantastic city for culture, history, and to enjoy the Danube. The city is buzzing with music and art - we pretty much had live music every night over dinner. The Fisherman's Bastion and the Matthias Church were absolute highlights. The parliament building is the most beautiful parliament building you'll ever see. The cruise is super worth it. Belgrade is beautiful and has so much history and the locals are very pleasant and welcoming. I enjoyed my walks along the knez Mihailova street, so beautiful and majestic. Belgrade is indeed a beautiful city. There's a Dino park at the kalemegdan fortress,it's perfect for kids. There's a small entrance fee. I was surprised at how much there was to see and do in this...
I was surprised at how much there was to see and do in this charming medieval town. We stayed for 4 nights which felt just right for visiting the castle, the Virgin Mary pilgrimage church, taking an afternoon boat ride on the Crystal ship, visiting the glass museum, and walking along the cobblestone streets to visit shops, art galleries, cafes, and bars. If we had more time I would have probably used the spot as a jumping off point for other local towns. We did a lot of walking to see the gorgeous views of the 3 rivers. Galati was special, two days was a bit short. - We took an early morning ferry over the Danube and back as foot passengers before breakfast. Fabulous sunrise, nice adventure. - Evening walk along the Faleza with beautiful impressing sculptures from the seventies. - Recommend restaurant Blue Acqua, good athmosphere and delicious fish dishes. Red Velvet, Amandina, Carpați, Diplomat, Ecler, Backavas with chocolate, Baclavas for Fasting, drink “ Braga”. And many, many more. For exemple : Last time I drank Braga it was when I was a child. 8 to 10 years old. Now I am 57. So, was worth it this trip to Braila. I have now been twice and seen most of the cultural hotspots. This time we went to go to the ballet at the Opera HOuse. Performance very good and theatre very comfortable.
