We spent a few nights here and were completely enchanted by the peaceful mountain landscapes, crystal-clear rivers, and the genuine kindness of the local families. The traditional guesthouses are cozy and welcoming, many run by locals who treat you like part of the family. Homemade meals, especially the fresh Albanian burek was a real highlight! There’s so much to do—from hiking to the Theth Pass, to simply enjoying a coffee by the fireplace in the cool mountain air. It’s an ideal spot for nature lovers, couples, and families looking for something authentic and off-the-beaten-path. Don’t miss Valbona if you’re planning a trip to Albania. Our hosts were super welcoming.
Our hosts were super welcoming. They looked after us well and sorted out transport to take us to the Valbona trailhead. Food (breakfast and dinner)was exceptional. Plenty of it, home cooked and locally grown. The guest house is closer to the trailhead than most others in the village. Altogether we stayed here 4 nights and we loved it.Guest review byKaren
