Lucky us, it's totally new. The lobby is just like a mini museum. Breakfast is strongly recommended. If you like nature and tranquility, this hotel is surrounded by rice field and it's on top of a little hill that provides a very nice view. We came here by bus. At the bus stop, there is a convenience store to buy drinks and food, cause there are no restaurant in this country side, although you can reserve dinner in the hotel. Then from the bus stop, it's a 10 minute walk to the hotel. Everything was just beautiful and tranquid. We really enjoyed our stay. Walking through the rice field to visit the famous Chūson-ji was our favorite day trip.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Forest Cottage Oshu. It was the perfect winter getaway - cozy and wholesome! There was snow everywhere and it felt so magical! The room was spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was fully equipped. We enjoyed the nearby onsen, which is free if you stay at one of the cottages. When we came back from the onsen in the evening, the staff started a bonfire outside that just enhanced the magical atmosphere. We found a couple of sweet potatoes in a plastic bag hung at our door handle and fully enjoyed roasting them in the bonfire. Such an amazing stay!

This was by far the best hotel in which I have stayed in my multiple trips to Iwate. Amazing customer service, overall cleanliness and amenities. The lobby workers were incredibly helpful and gave us all the information that we needed. The bed was very comfortable and the multiple options for pillows were a nice addition. Thank you so much!

Japanese hospitality at its best. There was not a single thing I could fault, we had the loveliest time. The food was exceptional, as was the service. The place is made for rest and recharge with the hot tubs and the whole atmosphere being calm and quiet. We were very sad to leave and would come back any time.

The customer service was excellent from the time we arrived - Kaede and the team went the extra mile many times to make our stay very comfortable.
