The entirely wooden home was an amazing sight and the view was even better. We arrived in the evening and woke up to a spectacular sight hearing the river/waterfalls down below. Absolutely stunning. The family that runs Wood Palace is amazing and has been great in accommodating us with anything we needed during our stay, first making arrangements for me as I was planning to propose to my girlfriend and later whilst our son got sick. The amazing starry nights from the balcony and fireflies lighting up the view topped it off. It’s located a little outside of Ella (5min drive) which made it very peaceful and quiet. The owner has a TukTuk and can bring you anywhere you need very quickly. Would definitely recommend! Thank you for a very memorable stay

Our best stay yet, in Sri-Lanka. Beautiful family, including Shaggy, and great food, both for breakfast and evening meal. Lovely setting and quiet (except for the odd stray dog barking). Information about local attractions was good.

Loved everything! Room was incredible, views like nothing else, delighted to have a bed that could roll onto the balcony and a hammock for relaxation. Spa was beautiful with serene views and reasonably priced (it was cheaper than the place we went to in town!). Restaurant staff were lovely. If the sights of Ella weren't so fantastic, we would have happily spent every second in this room.

So far it was the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka. We were lucky to be the first guests of this wonderful place. Room is clean, everything is new and it feels very cozy. View is stunning - we didn’t want to go anywhere else Owner and staff are super friendly, helpful and professional We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend to everyone!

    The hotel is exactly as pictured with panoramic views spanning between little Adam’s peak and Ella rock, a really beautiful spot. The rooms are laid out with a full glass wall to enable you to fully appreciate the view. Hotel was very clean, staff were working around the clock to keep it that way- which I am sure is challenging given the rain and the dirt road leading up to the property. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.

    We mainly booked it because of the complimentary shuttle, which works out perfectly. But the room and breakfast served on your own terrasse are already worth a stay for sure as well. You can also start a treck to Ella Rock from there instead of going back to town first. If you have your own tuktuk, you will rather want to park it at their designated parking and take their shuttle. The road to the hotel is only recommended for very experienced drivers.

    Beautiful location, facilities were great. Staff was so helpful and sweet. Delicious breakfast (varies every day) Close to the train station, a short walk into town. We did a day hike to Ella Rock from the hotel.

    This hotel deserves its name! We had a great view on the surroundings: water fall, Adam’s peak and Ella rock. On top, we had the best breakfast on Sri Lanka in this hotel. The owners were very friendly. We were picked up from the main street to the premises by a tuk tuk.

    Very nice and spacious room, the Centre of Ella and the train station are in walking distance. The Ella rock is also walkable straight from the hotel. Very nice staff and a nice pool area. The breakfast was amazing with a Sri Lankan and an international buffet.

    Host was super friendly. Great breakfast with an amazing view. Hostel is a bit off from the centre but therefor very relaxing. The host offered us a good tuktuk driver. You can climb Ella Rock straight from the hotel. We strongly recommend this beautifull place

    This was by far our favourite stay in Sri lanka. This was the first time we came to a place that looked nicer than in the pictures on booking. Kavi, the host is so helpful and very kind. The place is stunning! The view was amazing and so was the apartment. It was very new and very clean. The breakfast was very good aswell. We were super satisfied! It was also a short walk downhill to get to Ella rock, and there is a small super market close by. If you plan on going to Ella, you definitly should check out this place! A hidden gem.

    Cute homely hostel, with the hottest showers I’ve found in Sri Lanka. The owner is super sweet and will give you recommendations on walks and shortcuts. It’s close to the ella rock and waterfall walks.
