Trevi Fountain

Much to the annoyance of his fellow gods who chose to simply materialise, Oceanus preferred to travel by cumbersome shell-shaped chariot. Constructed in 1762 at the height of the baroque, the Trevi Fountain is one of the world’s most elaborate – and romantic – fountains. The God Oceanus is the fountain’s centrepiece. Swimmers take heed: beware of the vigilant fountain police!

    We loved it.

We loved it. We got there just before they closed down the site to visitors but it was very crowded. If you want another view of it, try the store across the street which has large windows to take photos of Trevi Fountain.

    Absolutely overcrowded.

Absolutely overcrowded. We were there on a Friday late afternoon. Took the subway there and walked the rest of the way. We did not want to use the subway in the dark so we decided beforehand to get a taxi or uber back, however, they were charging astronomical prices as they knew we were desperate. We ended up going back by subway.

The fountain is incredible but the crowds ruin the experience. Go very early or later when the crush has died down. Could barely edge our way around the perimeter. The little square up the street to the right of the fountain was fun.

    There's fountains and there's fountains.

There's fountains and there's fountains. Then there's the Trevi Fountain, probably the most beautiful and famous in the world. The sculptures associated with the fountain are simply wonderful. And then there's the famous "bath" taken in the fountain by Anita Ekberg in the movie "La Dolce Vita" . . . A place of pilgrimage for lovers from everywhere.

Don’t forget to throw a coin! It’s easier to throw one on the sides than try to go front and center. Cute gelaterie around. Gorgeous church kitty corner to fountain. Book ahead for fountain underground tour. Don’t forget to look at it, not just through your camera screen.

A pleasant hotel located near the Re di Roma metro station so convenient for reaching prime sites such as the Trevi Fountain or the Spanish Steps. The room was comfortable and clean with much needed air-conditioning available. there was also a small fridge and a very nicely fitted bathroom (excellent shower) with plenty of towels provided. The cleaning staff came in each day to remove waste and replace towels, if necessary. The reception staff were helpful, courteous and friendly.

A huge thank you to je rome hôtel ! Everything was simply perfect ..from the warm and caring welcome to the impeccable service. Every time I asked for something, it was taken care of immediately, with so much kindness. The rooms were spotless, and the location, just steps away from the Trevi Fountain, couldn’t be more ideal. Truly a 10/10 stay you made my trip unforgettable!

The room is large and spacious, and the bed is very comfortable. There was also a very pleasant terrace. The bathroom is modern, but the shower cabin is quite small and narrow. All the staff are very kind, especially Giulia and Roberta. The location is very convenient — just a 20-minute walk to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, and other major attractions. One day, there was unusually heavy rain in Rome and our room flooded. I imagine this isn’t a common issue at the hotel, and it was resolved quickly.

We were first-time visitors to Rome and had a wonderful stay. The apartment feels brand new and was very clean. It has two spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds, two modern bathrooms, and a large living area that was perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The location is excellent, close to great restaurants and a local market, just steps from the Colosseum, and only about a 15-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain. The host provided clear instructions and was very responsive to any questions we had.

I like the location of the hotel—it is close to busy areas like the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, yet it avoids being overly crowded and noisy, which is important since everyone knows Rome is packed with tourists in the summer. The area around the hotel also seems to be quite safe. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room and bed are comfortable, and the Wi-Fi works well. The rooftop bar is beautifully decorated and has a great atmosphere.

We had an amazing experience staying at this apartment in the heart of Rome! The location couldn't be better—just a short walk to all the major attractions like the Trevi Fountain. The neighborhood was lively yet quiet at night, with plenty of cafes, restaurants, and shops nearby. Our host was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations and making sure our check-in was smooth and easy.

Rome has lots of lovely romantic spots such as the Trevi Fountain which is stunning for a romantic stroll at night time. There are lots of romantic restaurants dotted around too and if you really want to take romantic to a new level then I recommend visiting the Mirabelle restaurant - a rooftop restaurant with a terrace overlooking Rome. It is very pricey but it is stunning.
