Our hotel of choice, when staying in central London. So close to St James Park (squirrel cuteness overload!), to the Mall, to Buckingham Palace, to the theatres, to Piccadilly, Oxford, Regent Street, to Trafalgar, the shops, museums... It's very practical. The staff is very efficient and courteous, and our room was very comfortable (we would have preferred a bathtub, though). The breakfast menu is good, but nothing out of the ordinary. We never tried the afternoon tea because we had other plans. Highly recommended and we'll be back in December for some more theatre-time and to enjoy the Christmas decorations.

Just perfect! It was unfortunate that the American Bar was closed for refurbishment during our stay but the Beaufort Bar proved a great alternative!

The location is fantastic, just a short walk from both the coach and tube stations. Westminster and Southbank can be reached with a pleasant 20–25 minute walk. The apartment is very quiet and peaceful. Communication with the host was quick and precise.

I loved the proximity to Westminster, the Southbank and the fact that it was located in a lively little street, with plenty places to eat out or have a drink and with street markets every other day. It also had a supermarket literally under the apartment and other supermarkets very nearby. Also being so close to Waterloo station meant not only being near a rail link but the station itself was almost akin to a little shopping centre.

Novotel could stand to renovate the building, i.e.fresh wall coverings, paint..but other than that, the place is amazing. One block to Westminster Bridge, 5 minutes to Big Ben. Pubs and cafés close by. We didn't utilize the breakfast buffet, but we did have a great continental breakfast in the bar.

A lovely hotel hidden in the heart of Westminster. Walk out the door and you are faced with Westminster Abby. (See photos) 5 minute walk to Buckingham Palace and cabinet war rooms. Very quiet clean perfectly proportioned spacious rooms, well equipped with fridge & a Nespresso coffee machine. Excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay at The Sanctuary again and would highly recommend.

Take a boat trip down the Thames from Westminster to Greenwich. You see the culture on the banks of the river and you can then return to the places you want to. Visit Greenwich Park, the Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark etc and return to the West End via the Docklands Light Railway, via Canary Wharf. A fantastic cultural round trip.
