    Many years ago I visited it in a boat, and it seemed so much...

    Many years ago I visited it in a boat, and it seemed so much bigger and so full of people. This time, we saw it from the shore and from a large bridge built next to the water, but despite the efforts of a man in a speedboat, who tried on successive days to get us to go, we did not. THere is a new mosque in the Water Village (Kampong Ayer), and the call to prayer comes on its loudspeakers, but the village (which used to be like a town), looked strangely deserted. Next time, I will definitely go to visit it.
