My husband and I had a last minute decision to stay overnight anywhere between Portsmouth and Southampton on a weekend. Since it was half term, most hotels were either already fully booked or have ridiculous prices. Found this one at a reasonable price considering our situation, and was pleasantly surprised to see that pur room was large enough to have 2 sofas (one was a sofa bed) plus a double sized bed. The breakfast was great and I love the card they put in rhe room showing which times get busy in the dining hall. So we knew what time to get up for breakfast to ensure we get seats.

Bed was amazing best nights sleep I have had, breakfast had plenty of choice and food was top class, also plenty for the kids. We paid extra for the room and had a beautiful balcony overlooking the cricket ground

Food was amazing , rooms very big and roomy and comfortable .. even though only 2 degrees outside the rooms were always warm even with window open for fresh air all night. The building had so much charm and character , the pool and spa were very nice and steam rooms very hot ... great hearing stories of the history of the place and stories that added to an amazing stay ...Staff were all very helpful and always greeted with a hello and smile ...dining rooms were set up so well with big comfortable chairs loved our stay wished was longer

The place was absolutely gorgeous; the grounds were beautiful and the breakfast room was amazing. There were lots of enjoyable things to do there too (a walk around the gardens, walk around the estate path, golf putting, gym, pool). Breakfast was really good.

Our group had a really enjoyable stay at this house. The host was really helpful and responsive, making sure everything was in place for our arrival. The house itself was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with enough room for everyone to feel comfortable. We had everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen to ample seating areas. It was easy for everyone to relax and enjoy the space without feeling crowded. The beds were extremely comfortable too, plenty of space to accomodate larger groups or families. Overall, it was a great house for a group getaway, offering a comfortable and hassle-free experience. Highly recommended for anyone hosting a larger group.
