Pieter and Rensia Ellis have managed to keep to their original objective of creating a place where like-minded people could feel connected to nature – truly a ‘Place of Rest’ as the name Pumula suggests. Pumula 4 Star B&B Knysna is an African name for "rest". For lovers of nature, the tranquil parkland atmosphere supports an abundant bird life. The lodge is centrally situated between the town and the famous "Knysna Heads" which allows for easy access to all the attractions in the area. The lodge has 2 kings, 2 twins and 1 double bedded bedrooms, all en-suite western bathrooms with private entrances which is ideal for adults and children over 10. Each bedroom has its own private patio, which overlooks the beautiful gardens and some overlook the swimming pool. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed with luxurious bedding, free Wi-fi, international electrical plug, satellite tv, just everything you need to make your stay a memorable one. We serve a hearty ‘Tree-Top’ breakfast amongst the birds and there is a covered barbeque facility in the garden. In the evening guests can choose from a selection of fine restaurants, which are located within 5 minutes drive. The owner is an enthusiastic birder and can advise guests on the best birding spots in the area. The lodge is also situated close to a bird sanctuary. The beautiful Knysna golf course is only 500 meters from the lodge and a further 6 top golf courses can be visited on day trips, which are within a 70 kilometer radius of the lodge. The owner is also a keen golfer and can assist guests in planning a wonderful golfing holiday. The Knysna Private Hospital is 600m from the lodge.

Pumula Lodge is situated in a well established suburb with many trees which attracts various birds.
