Company information

We moved from the U.K. in 2003, to George and created Malvern Manor as a guesthouse. Michael was originally a Farmer of cereals, sheep and racehorses, and is the first owner of Malvern Manor to be a farmer, all previous owners were industrialists. Sandra worked in natural medicines and pharmaceutical sector and travelled all around the Midlands, Wales and the South West of England. Having spent so many years staying in hotels, and catering for a large family and friends, felt that she could help create a guesthouse that she would have enjoyed staying in, and added all the extras which she enjoyed when staying away from home.

Property information

Re-Named Malvern Manor, as the original name of De Zoete Inval, we felt was too difficult for our guests. Coming from the Malvern area in England, and as the mountains reminded us of the Malvern Hills, we re named the house, Malvern Manor. We are a on a small farm, surrounded by the majestic Outeniqua Mountains. We are the only working farm in George, if not the Garden Route, providing luxury accommodation. The best of our farm is that we have our own spring water and can boast the best water in the area, having a strong supply from the mountain of clear, clean water. We also have what is known as "pepsi water" which is used for the farm.

Neighbourhood information

The surrounding area is very fertile with beautiful black soil, temperate climate and good all year round rainfall. There are also many large berry farms, growing Strawberries, Blueberries and Raspberries. Most of the produce, although available locally is sent abroad. We are lucky to have beaches close by, mountains and by driving, over the mountain, can be in semi-dessert within 30 minutes. We are surrounded by excellent golf courses, due to the excellent soil and weather, which keeps them green with very little watering. There are excellent shopping centres and cinemas within an easy 20 minute drive, and have superb restaurants as close as 1 km away.
