With it’s nordic and elegant understatement the lagoon studio is your hideaway of choice for nautic tranquility.
Situated in Paradise, a quiet and green neighborhood on a hill, Lagoon studio is part of Maison Mahogany a property with three self-catering units. Free parking, balcony, pellet fireplace, 4K TV and our garden are just some of the features to make your stay a pleasant one.
Situated on a hill overlooking the Knysna Lagoon, Maison Mahogany is your perfect spot to live the Knysna lifestyle to the max. Water, air, earth - feel connected to the elements again. A solid wood house with a living roof to create a climate of tranquility, luxury and healthiness.
We do have a SOLAR system, so during loadshedding, the light, power and internet do stay on at our property and in our units.
During winter, you don't have to freeze as we have pellet ovens and radiators.
Feel free to use the spacious garden, there is plenty of seating available in the shade.
There is a 49' Samsung 4K TV with Netflix streaming in each of our units.
Traveling - it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.
Our area is called "Paradise" and a lovely quiet neighbourhood on the hill offering spectacular views over the famous Knysna Lagoon. We are pretty close to the center of town, actually it is only a 5 - 10 minute drive down the hill.
If you want to see what Knysna has to offer as a town, we would suggest to check the following spots.
Leisure Island is nice for a walk. There is also an enchanting nature park there.
A large part of Thesen Island is for residents only, but the public part has a few restaurants and shops.
In the town itself there is a small mall. If you want to see some nice shops, Grey Street is also worth a visit.
For hipsters, the Knsyna industrial area is very interesting. There’s a fantastic gin distillery with a bar and a really good pizzeria next door. In any case, it’s also worth taking a little detour to Design Wise. You can find wonderful design furniture there. By the way, we bought the big colourful seat cushions in the Main House there.
For a bit of sightseeing, it’s also worth going to the Heads and enjoying the view.
And of course, the harbour is also quite nice. But it’s a bit more touristy. There are shops and restaurants.
