Explore world-renowned wine routes and visit the magnificent Cape Point and Table Mountain nature reserves; improve your game on championship golf courses or hop over Sir Lowry’s pass and onto the famous Garden Route. At Villa Adalbert, no pebble is left unturned to ensure your luxury guest house in Somerset West is as close to perfection as is humanly possible. Our story is not an ancient one. It’s a modern tale of a traveller who circled the globe and fell in love with the idea of creating a home away from home for guests – and being there to make their stay extra special. From that singular passion, Adalbert was born and continues to combine African splendour with a touch of European precision to create a truly unique guesthouse experience.
Somerset West is centrally located with Cape Town, Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront less than an hours’ drive away. Stellenbosch and its wine route are 20 kilometres away with the Strand beachfront a mere 5 kilometres where you’ll find a promenade and facilities for surfing, paddle boarding and fishing. another must see is The Helderberg Nature Reserve, a 363 hectare natural wildlife preserve opened in 1964, contains a wide variety of smaller fauna (buck, tortoises and other reptiles) and outstanding specimens of indigenous flora such as protea and fynbos. The Vergelegen Wine Estate lies just outside the town itself. The buildings on the estate constitute fine examples of Cape Dutch architecture. The Lwandle Migrant Labour Museum is located in Lwandle Township and is dedicated to the history of Black migrant workers in the area during the apartheid era. It is one of only a few museums in South Africa that covers this aspect of the country's history.
