This Old House I was constructed in 1890. I have lived a wonderful life and expect to live a lot more. I have good bones and have had the good fortune to have fine people that have cared for me thru the years, getting a face lift now and than. I have been many colors, gray, white, gray, blue and now I am sage green. Kind of like a women dying her hair, it's always a good thing. I have all new windows, doors, pillars and railings, the list goes on and on. My first family that dwelled within me was a minister, his wife and children. This was the parsonage for the Church across the street. Next came Dr. McDonald, his wife and their ten children. This was his practice as well as his residence. In 1959 a contractor, Ottaviano, Dave to his friends, his wife Camilla, Peggy to hers, and their five children. After Peggy, and Dave, passed away, their daughter, Linda, came home and she and Jim, opened this B&B. The families that have lived here were hardworking and a joy to be a part of. Many children have grown up here and moved on. The occasions that have been held in these walls, have been, memories born of happiness, and sorrow.
I am first generation, Italian decent, and have lived in Portland my whole life. I am interested my many things and learning all the time. I run a social group for widows and widowers, I am a life long member of the Italian Heritage Center and I'm on several committees. I have 2 cats roaming the halls, which would make Peggy turn over in her grave. Well-mannered dogs are also welcome guests: this is nice because I get to enjoy the dogs without all the work.
Rosemont is a well mantained older neighbor with great neighbors. We have Rostmont Market around the cornor that sell homemade pasteries, breads, fruits and sandwiches. J P's Restrauant, is one of the BEST place to dine in the city, and they are a 1 minute walk. The Metro is at the head of our stree and taxi's are always available. Shopping centers, gas stations, library, dog park, churchs are all in the area. The air port, bus stations are 5 to 7 minutes by car. The Old Port and all other attractions are only minutes away.
