Company information

Chef Jeff and his family are long term Montgomery residents. Retired in 2012, Chef Jeff decided he wanted to complete his culinary education and after two years he graduated and bought the property which was in need of a good renovation. Once the renovations were completed he added a five star restaurant that ran successfully for 6 years but his heart was really in the B & B so in December 2023, Jeff closed the restaurant to focus on the guests of the B & B and serve up some amazing food and service! Come see why so many consider Hodge Podge Lodge the finest B & B in the area!

Hodge Podge Lodge is a beautiful 170-year-old venue and B & B located in a picturesque setting in the heart of beautiful historic Montgomery Texas. Montgomery Texas is the birthplace of the Texas flag and in 1854 Hodge Podge Lodge was the finest property in the area, frequently visited by such famous historic figures like Sam Houston! The Willis family who built the home, had daughters who married into both the first banking company and the first oil companies in Texas. Today we know them as Exxon Mobil and Moody banks. The land for the town of Willis was named after the Willis family for their generous donation of all the land to build the town in exchange for a railroad connection that was needed for their company from the port of Galveston to the upper parts of the great State of Texas!
