Nice location at river side, very quite area and nice garden but dry at this time of the year. Host very kind and rooms are very clean good size and a/c is perfect. Swimming Pool clean and good size. No breakfast dining drinks available so you have to drive 2-3 km to nearest 7/11 to bring what you need. But its a nice place so no thumbs down here.

We drove up to visit Wat Prathat Chaiya, and Pum Riang town, had a sumptuous seafood lunch at Pho cape, and explored the long coast towards the north. The beaches are long, beautiful, and undeveloped. We also visited Ratchaprapa dam. The mountain water scenery is beautiful. A leisurely drive around the area is a pleasure.

We really liked Surat Thani.
We really liked Surat Thani. There is a well maintained waterfront , plenty of shops and restaurants and a really good night market with plenty of food stalls. We went on a boat trip on a long tail boat on the river and through the canals which was interesting and good value.

Loved this laid back city.
Loved this laid back city. We went on the boat ride (1 hour) through the mangrove area and saw lots of monitor lizards. In the evening it's great to go to the night market and graze on delicious street food. The area next to the night ferry also fills up with food stalls and you can sit there for a meal and a beer and watch the world go by. Would definitely recommend staying here for at least a night. Not many good restaurants that we found. People not as friendly as other locations. Ate in the Craft Bistro one night which on first impressions looked awful but the food was really good. Organising a taxi at the airport was shambolic - I ended up walking 5km to my hotel because the local taxi drivers did not want to take me as it was relatively close and therefore, not 'worth their while' - Make sure you prebook a bus, taxi, shuttle etc before you arrive.

We are thankful with the help from the receptionist who assisted us with the transfer from the hotel to a tourist agent office in town for our ferry transfer to Koh Samui the next day. Bring enough cash so you can conveniently make payment with the hotel for your onward transfer to the islands. Walking distance to eatery places and shops. The best was fine and the room had an ensuite and air con. It was next to impossible to get a taxi the following morning so the hotel employee gave me a lift in his own car and would not accept any fee. Certainly not the most luxurious but I got a good night sleep and the staff went above and beyond to help me.

Check very carefully about any hotel pretending to be near the Sea Link or Raja Ferries. Some real misrepresentation going on. Look at a map. Nice breakfast with a coffee and a sandwich, cheery staff, only one noodle stand nearby is your food option. Me and another guest had to get the desk clerk to sign us on to wifi.
