Property information

Villa HerMes arT is located in the idyllic village of Tomaj, at a beautiful sightseeing location, with a view of the surrounding vineyards and meadows, inviting you to relax in this calm green environment. We also have an enclosed Karst courtyard, which completely blocks off nosy passers-by, providing you with complete privacy. It is suitable for up to 12 guests. The pool is shared with our guests from the apartment Versus HerMes arT and apartment The View HerMes arT.

Neighbourhood information

The village of Tomaj is considered the heart of Teran wine country. Wines with hundreds of years of traditions, produced from a variety of Refosco grapes only by winegrowers in the region of Slovenian Karst. With its location in the immediate vicinity of Trieste, Lipica Stud Farm, Škocjan Caves, Vilenica Cave, Postojna Cave, and other globally renowned sights and attractions, it is undoubtedly a good starting point for explorations lasting many days. In immediate vicinity of Villa HerMes arT stands the birth house of probably the greatest Slovenian poet of his time, Srečko Kosovel, who once wrote: “Every rock, every tree, every bush, every road, everything has its own story. Go across Karst to a quiet meadow, among the silent pines, and listen. And the rock will tell you its story, the story of life.” And here, where the people of Karst, on the hard karst rock, write their story, one of the most beautiful stories of your life is being written. With its beauty, the land of Karst seduced one of the greatest poets of modern Slovenian literature, Oton Župančič, who wrote about Karst: “My soul is joyful, as if drinking Karst Teran.”
