Property information

House Aužlak was one of the first houses in Luče ob Savinji, as its existence dates before the 1850s. The house was later expanded with an extension, and in 2022 we have completely renovated it, with the thought of preserving its surrounding traditional characteristics. We have even kept the old name of the house, which originates from a German term Aufschlag meaning ‘toll booth’. In the old days, the house was probably the entry point to the valley, where visitors and traders had to pay a tool to enter. Another story has it that the word Žlak means ˝a place˝, and conveniently the new owner’s initials are AU, which makes AUžlak ˝A.U.place˝. 😉

Neighbourhood information

Located in the heart of the Upper Savinja Valley, at the crossroads of the Savinja and Lučnica rivers, under the famous Raduha and Dleskovška plateau, there is a compact village, which has repeatedly received the title of the most beautiful place in Slovenia. In 2019, Luče joined the international network of Mountaineering village, which connects Alpine tourist destinations committed to respecting the mountaineering tradition and sustainable tourism development. It is located in an excellent starting point for sports activities, walks, hikes in the mountains, cycling and exploring nature.
