A professional engineer, contact with other cultures and other ways of being in life and source of inspiration to break through borders, even on an island surrounded by the sea. We like to receive and demonstrate that the Azores are indeed unique, and that it is still possible to contemplate a Nature in its most virgin state. Make a trail, climb the mountain, see Whales, swim in the ocean ... we will be here to inform and help you.

Property information

Rocha de Sal was born out of the will to create a refuge near the sea, a shelter in a natural and quiet ambient. The intention is to transmit – to those who visit us – the essence of living in an island. The name we give it is inspired in that and also in “Pesqueiro do Meio” in Porto das Baixas. This fishing ground is a rock which has become a landmark to the residents and visitors as a location of choice for isolation and abstraction. The lodging Rocha de Sal is located in the south zone of Pico Island. The units are distributed through Terra do Pão including the zone of Porto das Baixas – adjacent to the Nature Park of São João.

Neighbourhood information

The south slope of Pico has the best natural bathing areas. A high slope, facing south, path of whales and dolphins. The accommodations are in a rural and quiet village, near the sea and near the Parque Florestal de São João. Ideal for a holiday of relaxation and contemplation of nature.
