Love at first sight...
We visited the island for the first time in October 2018 - and fell in love after only 24 hours. For some years we had been traveling and searching for the perfect spot for the two of us. Although we enjoyed our time as entrepreneurs in Germany, the yearning for more sunshine and ocean views never let us go.
Anyone who has ever been to Madeira knows about the unbelievable diversity of the island: impressive cliffs, enchanted fairy tale forests, inviting natural pools, impressive mountains and overwhelming waterfalls. Together with the wonderful openness and joie de vivre of the inhabitants of Madeira it quickly became clear to us: Here we belong.
Nothing makes us happier than sharing the magic of this island with guests! We stay in the top part of the house, so if we can help with any questions about the apartment or the island, just ring the bell.

Situated above the beautiful village of Arco da Calheta, Casa Serena has just three luxury apartments from which you can marvel at the spectacular sea views. Spacious and homely, the apartments are well equipped and designed with your comfort in mind. The apartments are Madeira Tourist Board Approved and therefore meet the highest standards available. These tourist approved spacious fully equipped holiday rental apartments, with a breath taking south facing sea view, are located in the sunny south west of Madeira, on the side of the valley overlooking the banana plantations and the village of Arco da Calheta. What you see is what you get!
Neighbourhood information
Considering Madeira’s landscape it is very important to find the right location to spend your holiday, Casa Serena which lies at 222 metres ASL (above sea level); this means that it still enjoys a mild sub-tropical climate even in the winter months. You can imagine the higher you go the colder it gets. Some peeks on the island are more than 1800 m ASL. In the summer months the apartments are high enough to escape any sea mist and enjoy the full heat of the sun. Located close to some of the most beautiful Lavada walks on the island, Casa Serena provides the perfect place to explore this wonderful island.
