Very comfy beds, very attentive management. We stayed at the Omamari cottage which was the perfect size for 2 adults and a toddler and an infant. Kitchen is stocked with all essentials, rarely any bugs or mosquitoes so we kept doors and windows...

The host was nice and offered a free cabin as we had a huge whānau! Ngā mihinui for that! We had everything we needed in the main house for eating/ chilling out and we slept in our own cabins which was fully furnished and facilities were great!...

Company information

We are originally from New Plymouth but desired a change of direction. A recommendation by a friend to view Kai Iwi Lakes was the deciding factor as was this property up for sale at the time of our visit. We snapped it up and attended to refurbishing/renovating the houses to our colourful tastes which has been met with much enthusiasm from guests. Rod and I love the lifestyle and the chance to meet such a wide variety of people. We love the outdoors. Our intention is for you to have a GREAT time xoxo

Property information

Our 5 Holiday Homes and 3 Glamping Tents are set amongst expansive tropical gardens with fabulous entertaining decks/areas. Your children will love our playhouse and playground and our lawns to play games. Walk to the beach along our paper road access or a few minutes drive to the sparkling waters of Kai Iwi Lakes. Hire our paddleboards or kayaks or jetski. Relaxation or adventure - its up to you - we are all about nature here..... the old school NZ of carefree summer days and jandals.

Neighbourhood information

The best parts of our location are the proximity to Kai Iwi Lakes - a few minutes drive. Where the waters are knee deep for ages - perfect for the little ones. Or take your play toys- boats, jetskis, paddleboards, kayaks. We are also a 5 min drive to Ripiro Beach through the Omamari Settlement - a driveable beach for 4wd vehicle of 107kms and easy access to other villages at low tide. Kai Iwi is food for the family and there is plenty of that at the beach - tua tuas, fish and mussels. Check out Sharkys takeaways at Baylys Beach for the easy feed. Tane Mahuta in the forest and the Kauri Museums. Go find the kiwis in Trounsen Park. Dargaville has a great skatepark, and swimming pools.
